I have always preferred female dogs to male dogs just because they dont tend to mark their territory as much. Another thing i have noticed between the two is that male dogs tend to hump other dogs/people more than females. I do have a male shih tzu but I would still prefer a female dog.

None of my males have ever "marked" their territory before(I usually had them fixed early to prevent anything of that nature) and not one of my boys have ever been inclined to have a go at anyone's leg or another dog. But all the females ive been around tend to do that more often. Isnt it funny tho that you see the male's do it and I see the female's!! Just goes to show they all could do it at some point I reckon. :p

What we found interesting was that the males tend to be cheaper than females so simple economics tells us that females are in higher demand than males.[/QUOTE]

The reason females are usually more expensive are because there are so many "back yard breeders" that assume if you get a female, you are going to breed them and recoup some of the cost of the initial purchase price of her.

Roxy is my dollbaby, my little "pretty, pretty" (she loves it whell I call her that!), but I prefer males. Reason being - females, in my limited experience, tend to be more stubborn and independant. I love Roxy and our bond is unbreakable, but Ruckus is my soulmate. I have always had males, and have not had some of the training issues that I have with Roxy. My sister prefers females, she likes the stubborn streak, while I like the complete devotion that I get from my boys. But to each their own, all boxers are great! Just another note - I saw a sticker on Ebay last night that said "If it's not a boxer, it's just a dog." My sentiments exactly!!

Tiger is our first boxer, and he's a male, but when I think back on it, all my life out of all the dogs I've had (and that's a lot)...there has been ONE female. So...I guess I'm a little partial to males.

I have always loved the males...maybe it is cuz I am a female?, who knows...I just love how sweet and lovey they are. The female dogs I have had tended to be more moody and just a little, well, different, not it a bad way, I just like the males personality so much! I would still like to have a female boxer some day though. I just love my boy!! :)

Males !

Growing up we always had male dogs. I guess my dad liked "tougher" dogs and I guess we never wanted to deal with puppies. Anyway, I'm partial to males, even to the point that I want another one, no desire really for a female. I think my husbands favorite dog was a female dalmatian years ago. She was sweet, but boy, are boxers ever more calm than dalmatians!

Female all the way!

I hear so many people say that females are stubborn and independent, Bella must be an exception to that rule!! She is so very obedient, loves to play, but is just as happy and content to be laying her head in my lap while I watch TV. She is so rough when she plays with dh, but yet gentle as can be when she is with my skinkids. We all adore her! I have always had male dogs, she is my first female, and she has been by far the most loving and the best listener.

Growing up We always had male dogs, so my initial choice when we got our boxer was a male. we found a breeder that I really liked and got on well with and trusted 100%. The litter had yet to be born when we had our interview, and she talked us around to accepting a female if the litter happened to be all girls. It turns out that there was only one girl in alitter of five which the breeder wanted to keep herself. So I got my own way and got a beautiful brindle boy.

partial to girls

we had a lot of male dogs growing up... alot of leg lifting , "pinkness" that always seemed to appear at inappropriate times, and excessive "ball" licking (that would go on for LONG periods of time).

Other than that, males are great......BUT

I have a preference for females... always have. I know... they can be real "bitches" but... still prefer them.

PLUS ... it leaves me with less pointing/giggling/comments from my 3 kids (especially my 9 year old son - boys love to point out things in indescrete ways).

We have one of each and I love them both dearly. That being said, Brutus is my baby and such a big momma's boy. He tends to be more of a cuddler and sweetie pie so I would have to say that I prefer males. Trinity tends to be a little more independent and VERY vocal. She's daddy's girl for the most part-unless she wants to snuggle.
