How scary! I've never heard of a fisher cat either - I googled too! I can't believe it attacked Mabel either - I hope there wasn't anything wrong with it. Mean, mean, mean looking thing. And it all makes sense now. It's a close cousin to the Wolverine and they can be nasty. Poor baby Mabel, give her extra lip kisses for me and Mush. Oh I also read that late March early April is their mating season too....bet they're extra cranky around this time....

I grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin and fishers are quite common up there and I have seen a number of them in the woods.

Oh, great. I looked at the original poster's location and thought, "Whew, I guess we don't have those out here in Wisconsin," and then you had to go and post that!

They do sound scary!
