This morning, when I got up to let ABBY out, there was a layer of ice covering the back conrete patio. Since I had watched the weather broadcast earlier, I knew about icy conditions outside and had already decided that I wasn't going out there in it. Well guess who didn't pay attention to the warnings. That's right, ABBY. Usually, when she first goes out in the morning, she tears ass out to the shed to see if there is a cat that has taken up residence in it. Only this morning didn't go as she had planned. Oh, she was revved up and raring to go, alright. But as soon as she cleared the door and hit the icy patio, all four of her legs went out from under her in different directions. She slid, on her belly, all the way across frozen concrete until hitting where it ended and the lawn starts. I couldn't keep from laughing.

Ahhh...poor girl!

Buster hit the ice on our patio this afternoon too! Schools in our area today were all off due to snow (including Cincinnati Public School that is usually never off). Anyway...round two of our storms has been freezing rain and that's been coming down for hours now. Buster was at the back of my yard by the shed. I stepped outside to get a photo of him and he came charging at me...hit the patio and slid 1/2 way across it before he managed to stop. Luckily for him, his legs didn't completely go out from under him like Abby's did. It sure did make me laugh too though. Round three of our storms will bring another round of snow (maybe 8"). I'm thinking this will be another day of working from home. The boys' school has already been called off for tomorrow.

Notti does this too.......she just loves the snow! I open the back door, and her eyes just light up. Then she runs out and does the "all legs in different directions" thing.
She runs along, with her mouth sucking up snow as fast as she can. With the noise she makes, I call it "Snurfelling".

Tyson has been slipping and sliding on ice for a few days. He hits our sidewalk, decides to take a burn around the house and sideswipes around the corners. Kind of like the cartoons that they are running, but no going anywhere. Soooo funny. Got lots of freezing rain last night and this morning, he won't even leave the porch. Had to force him to pee. But it's also cold and raining.

Poor baby girl! I keep picturing Bambi on the ice for the first time, thanks for the great visual.

That was my thought EXACTLY!!

Too funny. Cooper did the same thing with the first snow. I unfortunately missed it, but my partner said it was hilarious!

Thanks for the laugh!

We ended up having a layer of ice over about 1-1/2 inches of snow. Lily started off as usual and then when her feet cracked thru the ice, it startled her and she jumped around like a doe! I cracked up! Then it became a game to her and she darted and jumped around like she was rabid! I can't wait for more snow! Bring it on!!!!!!!
