Loki has a swollen mouth

I Woke up this morning and was greeted my girl and the side of her face is swollen. Looked like her gums were hanging out. so I felt it and she has a lump the size of a golf ball on her jaw line/gum area. Poor girl. :(
It don't seem to be bothering her other than she's not as hyper as she normally is in the morning.
I called the vet and I'm bringing her in this afternoon I hope it's nothing serious.

Anyone had this before? i know I won't know what it is till I see the vet, but the wait is driving me nuts

Thanks. Took her to the vet and it's an absess. The vet things she probably got a thorn or something stuck, and basically it becomes infected. Doesn't really surprize me cause she belives everything is worth chewing on. So tomorrow she has to go back in and gets put under to have the fluid drained. Then she'll walk around for 2 or 3 days with a draining tube and a cone on her head. I hate the idea of putting her under, but it must be done - the vet said I could wait and see but it's not very often that they'll heal on their own, so i'm figure just get rid of it

Poor girl!!!! She looks like someone punched her in the face and then she'll have all that stuff on her... I think even more puppy cuddle time will be in order.

I am glad to hear nothing too bad. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. Tyson is the same way, if it's within reach, must be food!!

Well Loki went to the vet and apparently it's not an abscess. The lump is just a bunch of swolen soft tishue - so i'm assuming thats like a fat lip? The vet's not sure what it is since she's never seen it before, but her best guess is that just like what would have casued the abscess she probably got something stuck and it casued to to become inflamed

So she took a sample for a biopsy, but she's not going to send it out yet. This morning the swelling was down, so she sent her home which anitinflamitory drugs, antibiotics, and eye cream casue her eyes were looking a little droopy. Now we wait and see, if it goes away in a week... great. If not she'll send out the biopsy and she what it says.

Leave it to my Loki to stump the vet
