My 4.5 month old Bailey girl started limping about five days ago. She was keeping her right leg in the air and was really moping around. I took her to the emergency Vet who took xrays of her hips and examined her legs but could not determine the problem. The vet suggested 7 days kennel rest which is no prob because she's crate trained. Three days later she bagan to walk on the leg and I was very relieved.
The next day without warning she began to limp again but this time keeping her left(the other) leg in the air. We are now in the third day of limping on the left leg and i've seen no improvement. Bailey is now starting to form a small lump on the middle of her back.
The vet said she has loose hip sockets and will likely be displastic later in life. I can deal with that...but a displastic dog at 4.5 months. Has anyone else dealt with this overnight limping and if so what is it and can it get fixed.
If not myself and the breeder are going to have some serious issues due to my outrage with them breeding so irresponsibly.
I will keep you updated as to her condition but until then healing thoughts would be great. Thanks
