A toddlers curiousity mixed with some teenage angst and rebellion. That is my 1 year 4 month old baby.
"Can I eat that? Oops I just got a big NO. Better wait till she is busy or sleeping before I eat her bottle of prescription pills. Whoa, now I'm high on drugs, better try to wake mommy up. Oh goody mommys awake at 3am and taking me for a car ride. Whoa look at the lights. They're aliens, man, aliens. Mommy I'm scared."
"Wahhhhhh, I'm just a baby why would mommy take me to the hospital to get my tummy pumped? Wahhhhhh!"
"This sucks mom, it's not like I was buying drugs in the city."
"Wahhhhhh, mommy take care of me."
A constant battle. I have found from the experience above that yes, they need constant supervision. We gotta stay a step ahead of them. Sometimes I walk around on my hands and knees to get an eye level perspective of what Loki may be tempted to investigate.
They are our kids, our babies, our rotten teenagers too. What works for me is exersize. Tire them out. Let them investigate the outside world. Let them run like cheatas for a good 45 minutes, take them home bribe them with a bull pizzle, and watch them doze off.
P.S. Don't think I haven't thought of boot camp though.
