LIfe Under Microscope?!!

I love to garden and have spent countless hours planning for and planting so that our yard is not only aethetically pleasing to the eye, but is unique as well. Seems a neighbor has been planting every shrub, flower, etc that we have, and her yard is now an exact replica of our own. I built a garden shed and deck, she had one erected and built; I put up an arbor with vining clematis, she soon follows suit; and so on and on. What's more, she went to nursing school after I graduated, and even named her three children after my own. Dh and friends think I should be flattered, but I am very uncomfortable with someone aping everything I do. How would you feel? ~ Cathy

Um, that would freak me out. I would be flattered by the gardening however naming the kids??? A little much I think....

Creepy....that's the kind of stuff they make stalker/horror flix about.......are you two friends on speaking terms or is she just your "shadow"?....you could have fun though..... start wearing a clown nose and see if she follows suit.....plant poison ivy and see if she really knows whats she's doing....

She named her kids after yours? Now that's wierd. Are you friends? Seems this lady doesn't have a life of her own so she's using yours. I'd keep an eye on her. Reminds me of the movie Single White Female. I'm sure that vision helps alot. Seriously though, just seems she's kinda sad.

That is definitely strange, and I know what you're talking about! Although, my story isn't as eerie as yours, still similiar. I had a "friend" who insisted on getting married right after dh and I did. And, I mean, right after. She also made, yes, made, her bf buy her an engagement ring exactly like mine! She made him buy it at the same store and everything. She told him if he didn't, she wouldn't marry him. She bought furniture for her new house, that is just like my furniture. Even went out and bought a vehicle like mine, but a slightly different color....just slightly different. It was weird. There were more things, too, that were minor, but aren't coming to mind right now.

Needless to say, we aren't friends anymore! I don't have kids, but whenever dh and I would talk about having them, so would she and her fiance! It's not flattery, it's creepy! The only thing I could think of was the "Single White Female" movie that someone else mentioned in this post.

Odds are, nothing will happen, and she's a sad soul. But, be careful. It's definitely weird. I'm pretty happy that those "friends" of ours are out of our life now. Thankfully, I haven't seen her since I lost my cool with her. I just couldn't take it any longer. I wish you the best. Just be careful, and keep your eyes open....just in case!!

That's weird....I have had a "stalker" experience before and it was messed up. I ended up moving 2 hours away just to get away from this woman. She redid the inside of her house just like I did, same paint colors & everything, bought a car like mine, different color, started stealing my clothes out of my closet and countless other things besides trying to "move in" on my husband and kids. Needless to say I freaked out when I came home one day and she was at my house, rearranging my furniture. I flipped out completely that day. It took me several years to get over being angry at her. Now that I look back I know she was just extremely unhappy and was trying to find some for herself, it was just really hard for me to see that then.

That sounds creepy! My Mom has the opposite problem with her neighbor! She had to plant the back of her property so she couldn't see her neighbor anymore. He used to go to the fence and call her and my Step-Dad names! So she planted countless vines and such to block his view. Now they can only see him in the Winter when all the leaves are gone. Maybe you will have to make a 'Vine Fence'!

I hate to be the odd one out here but perhaps she is just very lonely and has no self esteem. I agree that it IS creepy and weird to say the least, but is she a nice lady? Perhaps it is her way of trying to establish some sort of friendship with you? Maybe you could simply ask her? It could be that she doesn't feel as though she has any ideas of her own and loves your taste??? Though the kids names are a bit much.... I just always try to look for the good in people, it does get me into trouble occaisionally

OMG, now this is really scary!! Well, at least I can think of one thing I doubt my stalker won't be copying any time soon, and that is expressing her own dog's anal glands ("Finger in Butt" thread). Ha-ha!!!!
