We have become a swim family
Well, Shadow took the plunge on Sunday and went to swim with Mugsy. He was such a good boy! Sometimes, in his excitement, Shadow gets mouthy and other dogs misinterpret him. Also, we acquired him because his furdaddy (he was chosen as pick of litter rather than stud fee) was beating him up and his owners felt that he would have a better life elsewhere. Shadow, as well as a few family members who came to his rescue, took a few stitches during that time. Needless to say, if another dog is aggressive towards him or Mugsy, he goes nuts. There were about 6 dogs at the pool and everyone got along great! The first swim for Shadow was a tough introduction, as he tried to climb out of the pool, but he got the hang of it. Mugsy is getting better with every session and gets excited when he realizes we are near the facility. The neurologist who does the acupuncture added some stimulation therapy today. Mugsy looked like a car battery being jump started! As always, he was great and lay perfectly still. Mugsy even has a brighter expression these days...almost like his puppy face has come back. He is brighter, more alert, and more active. I hope our fortunes continue this way. It is always in the back of my mind that things could turn sour again. For now, however, I am just celebrating Mugsy's determination and regularly thanking God that he is still with us and still wagging his nubby.lovicon
Have a great week everybody!
