Could it be fate?
After a very strenuous day at swim, and an overnight filled with ringing phones, among other interruptions, Mugsy went to acupucture. When I was leaving, I met a four month-old pup recovering from a broken back leg. His daddy is a chiropractor and he checked some things on Mugsy and suggested I get some chiropractic care ASAP. The craziest thing...he had me touch Mugsy's spine, toward the rear, and hold my other arm out straight. As he paplated Mugsy's neck, he pushed down on my arm. I was able to keep my arm up against his push until he came to Mugsy's atlas (a neck bone that headache sufferers get "karate chopped" by a chiropractor to reset--I have to have this done often b/c I get migraines. It isn't a pleasant experience, but boy does it work!). When he pushed on the atlas, my arm collapsed. I had no strength! I may not have mentioned that a Rekhi message therapist looked over Mugsy at the pool one night and said she sensed a "disruption of flow" in his neck. She gave me the number of a cranial-sacral therapist. It is all so overwhelming. Could it be fate that I ran into this man? I had changed my appointment to an hour earlier because we had a snow day again and work was closed. He took my number and called me later to tell me that he had found a canine chiropractor in my town! Can you guess who I am calling tomorrow? He was surprised that an MRI had never been done, but Mugsy had come down with the kennel cough that turned to pneumonia after his nerve and muscle biopsies. The neurologist did not want to anesthetize him after that. We see our regular (new and improved) vet next week for a rabies titer, so I will ask him about the MRI then.
All in all, Mugsy is very affected by interrupted nights and is having a rough time with all the ice outside. Today was not the greatest day--didn't eat all his breakfast, stayed in my bed until noon, vomited water after dinner--but I'm pretty sure I know what the contributing factors were. Right now, he seems pretty content by the fire and I'm not too concerned (Imagine that--the worrry-wart is not concerned!). He did a great 6 laps at the pool yesterday and I did take pictures of both boys. I should have them in the gallery by week's end.
Hope you are all staying warm!
