Sorry to hear about Owen! I hope he's fine!

Please keep us updated.

My only advice is that you may want to consider adding a bit more potassium to his diet. This is what I did when Apollo had head tremors and he hasn't had a tremor since. I added it in the form of bananas, fed as a treat, and spinach and broccoli added to the veggie mush. But with Owen, the tremors may be related to the anemia...

I hope Owen's feeling better soon! We'll be thinking about you!

Thanks for the suggestions Channan, I will keep that in mind.

I just got back from the vets and Owen had to be admitted :( He is running a high temperature now.

They are currently running blood work, urine alysis, and will be doin x-rays of his heart and abdomen. They put him on IV fluids right now to try and bring down his fever. Once we identify what's causing all of this we will certainly be treating it immediately and aggressively.

Thanks again for everyone's support during this difficult time. I will certianly keep you posted as I learn more.

I should be hearing form the vet withing a few hours about the test results.

Sadly,

Kysha,

We are sending you our best boxer vibes. I'm sorry to hear that Owen had to be admitted but am glad to hear that your vet is aggressively working to get to the bottom of Owen's troubles. Maybe a fever is a good sign that this is a treatable illness, keep thinking positive. Paws crossed here and please keep us posted as you are able.

Thanks everyone for EVERYTHING.

I am having such a hard time keeping positive. I just feel so sad that he is at the vets all alone and I am sure he feels awful and scared. I know that the best place for him is at the vets and I trust them 100%, but it's so hard...

The last time I left a dog at the vets she never came back home:(

As soon as I hear anything I will let you all know.

I've been following your thread and just wanted to let you know that we're sending lots and lots of healing/positive vibes to both you and Owen.

I know just how hard it is to stay positive, esp. when you've had a bad experience in the past. I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see our vet's number come up on the caller ID, even if I know they're just calling with some mundane stuff.

It's an awful feeling to have to leave them in the hospital when you so badly just want everything to go back to the way it was before there was a problem. But you're doing exactly the right thing in spite of how difficult it is. The sooner you uncover the cause of his problem, the sooner it can be resolved and the sooner he can come home.

Hugs to you and Tegan and lots of calming healing vibes to Owen. Keep us posted and in the meantime we'll keep all fingers and paws crossed that Owen will soon be bouncing around that agility course. :)

I heard from the vet tech and Owen's temperature is coming down, still not stable enough to come home, but he is improving. he has perked up a little and went out for pee on his own!

They took x-rays this afternoon and I am just waiting to hear back from the vet about the results - if she found any abmormalities/grwoths on this internal organs.

Again - thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayer! They really do mean alot to me during this tough time.
