Thank you vey much Apollo and Channan - you brought a smile to my face. I LOVE the kisses from Apollo.

It's really quiet and very uneasy in the house without Owen. Tegan certianly knows something is up...

I didn't manage to chat with the vet this evening :( I will get the update about the x-rays in the morning. I will for sure be posting as soon as I know more. The last I heard was that he went out for pee and was settled into his crate nicely.

I just can't get over the feeling of lonliness (thank goodness i have Tegan). I feel so sorry for the little guy all alone tonight. He must be very scared and worried without us around. I can't wait for him to come home. I will cook him the BEST meal ever!

I really can't thank you all enough for your support and encouragement.

I don't have any experience with Owen's situation, just wanted to say that we'll be thinking about you, Owen, and Tegan and sending him 'get better' wishes. Update us when you get the chance.:)

ppsssstt..... Owen.... Luke has been acting very stoic these past few days. I asked him what was up. He told me that he was concentrating on Owen. He said that he knows how it is to stay in hospital and he was sending special doggie vibes out to him. He was passing out wiggles and those huffs for the quiet times too.
But Owen... even tho Luke can say it best in dog speak, in ways that only you can know, I want to tell you that you have all of us thinking of you and praying for you. Yes, that includes bipeds too!
You'll be better soon enough. Mommy and your whole family are waiting for you dearheart. Rest and be home soon with beans gallore!

You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and support - it really means allot during these tough times.

Owen is still in the hospital :( I went in to see him today and stayed for about 4 hours. He was really happy to see me and I got him to eat one and half cans of wet dog food! This is the first thing that he has eaten since Sunday night.

His temperature has been normal for the past two days!

They sent blood off for testing and the test for IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia ) came back negative! We are awaiting the test results for Leptospirosis now (should be in be the end of the week).

Owen's red blood count was originally 18 and is now up to 22 (35-55 is the normal range). His is still in a critical condition becuase if his blood count drops to 17 or lower, that's when they do blood transfusions!

He is still on IV fluids with a 'cocktail' of atibiotics three times a day. He seems to be respoding to this so far.

If all the tests come back negative the next step to take is doind a blood culter, and then a bone marrow spiration (I think that's what she said - I was crying at the time).

We still don't have any idea what is causing this, but he is responding to current treatment.

Owen will reamain in the hospital until his blood count gets a little higher or until we find out what is causing this. Our best guess is that he will be home on Saturday!!

I will go in and visit him agian on Friday. I think me visiting him brightened his day, but he was SO sad when I left. It's really hard on everyone and frusterating because we don't know what exactly is going on - he is a bit of mistery right now...

I will post again when I have more info.

Thanks again for all the healing vibes you're sending to Owen - they are working!

I know how hard this is for you, the not knowing and the fact that he is in hospital is so upsetting. I went through this with our last boxer a couple of years ago when he developed kidney problems he was in and out of hospital for 3 weeks. I know he really perked up when we visited him so I am sure this means a lot to Owen.

Its so hard to see them when they are not feeling well and especially hard when you cannot take them home to take care of them. I am sure he is in good hands and in no time at all they will figure it all out and he will be on the road to recovery.

Sending lots of good healing vibes and prayers your way.

Stay strong and keep us posted.
