well, add me to the pile, then! I am sure you feel as if you are being attacked, but no one here is "jumping on you" for any other reason than concern for your boxer. Rather than responding defensively, with condescension or hostility, you might want to consider that if all of us here are so concerned, then there is probably a great deal of validity to our concern, not just an attempt to prove ourselves smarter or better boxer owners!
You wish to "weigh all options" regarding what is in the best interest of your boxer, great...then please pick up ANY book on boxers and look up what it says about the boxer as an outdoor dog....nowhere will you see it stated that a boxer is suitable for outdoor living.
You came to this website/fourm for advice and information, and of course you will not always agree with some of the suggestions you recieve, I'm sure all of us have differing opinions on many areas...but this is one area where I am afraid you will NOT find anyone to support your decision or back your choice to disagree. Many of the folks here have bred, shown, lived with and raised boxers for many years--and many of us have veterinary experience--so I would hope you will reconsider your views on keeping your boxer outdoors for his/her sake. Also--as the others have said as well--you really should have your boxer seen by a vet to determine what is causing the vomiting/diarrhea rather than ignoring the problem by banishing her to the yard! maybe a boxer is not the right breed for you....
backfist said:While there's probably a little more room on the pile for some to jump on, I've gotten the gist of your opinions. Makes me wonder if, in the past, I'd always been civil and polite to people who owned Akitas; other owners probably received my "advice" with a similar hint of condescension, patronization and/or hostility. After all, I knew all that there was to know about Akitas. And if someone else didn't know what I knew, they were sure to find out the hard way.
That said, I'm not going to argue with the good forum moms about indoor vs. outdoor. Rather, I'll continue to weigh all options that are in our dog's best interest.
Thanks again.
