My five moth old fawn coloured boy is really good around kids on the whole. He and my kids love one another the only sort of issue is that when the kids are playing with him they keep holing his toys above their heads which leads him to jump and hence occasionally knock them over. What really impressed me was the other day at the park this little boy and his dad came over to pat the dog and the next minute the boy is punching Ben. He didn't even flinch he just stood there and took it in his stride then looked at the boy as if to say another pat would be nice!especially if i can get a lick in.

I have 4 nieces and one nephew (4 of them under 4 years old) and my Couture is wonderful with them. She follows me around, and the kids follow her. Any time she stops all the kids give her a hug and she loves it. The only problem is that the little ones are at the perfect "face licking" height and get more kisses than they know what to do with.
I've even looked down to find Couture lying under my chair with Hogan (2 years old) sitting right in front of her pulling on her ears over and over. She tolerated it like a true Boxer - with a lick to the face from time to time...

this is actually specifically why we got a boxer.. my son was a little over a year old when we met our friends boxer who was three months at the time and was an absolute sweetheart to Diego... after that we did alot of research on boxers and came to the conclusion we wanted one... not going to lie, he is a pain in my butt sometimes but Jasper has been nothing but amazing with his buddy... so cute because now every morning our son HAS to be the one to let him out of his crate before we all go downstairs

i wholeheartedly agree that it is a breed trait.. matter of fact that is SPECIFICALLY why we got one.. my son was about a year old and on the first day of meeting a friends boxer the two became inseperable... Jasper is a huge pain in the butt yet is absolutely wonderful with our son who is now two and a half

Well, I'll be a voice of mild dissension - Kevin loves everybody, and has never made a move to hurt a living thing for as long as he's lived. He wants to be everybody's friend, and he doesn't get why people don't want to just play all the time. I've seen him get bossed around big time by Boston Terriers, Dachshunds, Chihuahuas, and he just looks like "Why???" and walks away.
BUT, part of Kevin's love for everybody is manifested in his desire to place at least seventeen huge licks on the face of every person he meets. And so far, he has made no distinction between adult and child when it comes to this. That can definitely frighten some kids, when this goofy boxer comes up and goes for their face (obviously, I do everything I can to prevent this from happening).
He's still a puppy though, at 8 months. Maybe he'll calm down in a year or 12.

I run a day care out of my home, so there is usually at least 5 kids 5 and under at all times during the week, and Joe is awesome. That was one of the reasons we went with a Boxer (besides my hubbies devotion 
to them) was their temperaments and their known ability with kids. Over Joe's 5 years he's had his testicle pulled and twisted, 3 kids (including our son) have learned to stand holding onto his back fur, he's been pulled around by his collar, poked at...I could go on, but he has only displayed an easy going relaxed demeanor. Never a bark or growl... Don't get me wrong, I don't allow Joe to be a punching bag, but with 5 kids running around things happen...
In fact Joe has helped multiple kids who had paralyzing fear of dogs over come them, and now he is a pillow for them to rest their heads on while he sleeps.
With adults however he is a complete spaz! Kidney beaning and wiggling so hard I worry he may levitate!

My boxer is 1 years old and absolutely loves playing with the kids however I can agree that for whatever reason kids believe they can take his toy and hold it above their head thinking there is no way he can get it. Well those kids usually end up on their butts with the toy back in his mouth....LOL! I don't think his intention is to knock it down but he is a complete spaz over any ball or Frisbee he finds and it doesn't matter whats going on or where he is if there is a ball or Frisbee that he wants he will find a way to get it.
