Twice the food, twice the poop...but it is fun...Toby girl is 6 yrs. old and we adopted 9mos. old Nemo, he was outside until we got him and we've had him for 1 month and 2 wks. and he has slept w/ us everynight. Toby still looks at him w/ evil and tolorates him but they do'nt really interact. They both fight for human attention, I hope they will play together eventually, but i don't know. She gives in because he's just too much for her to deal with, he's so hyper and she's older now and basically has the attitude that it just is'nt worth the hassle. I remember when she was like him. They've only had a couple of fights over food, and she won, but other than than that, he's the boss. I can sure see a change in her, I think the age difference is a little much, plus Toby has been the only dog w/us for about 3 yrs. now (rainbow bridge) pros and cons...
Just make sure to seperate at some times too. We have had Raven since she was 8 weeks old and then Pheonix came home at almost 2 yrs old and we made the mistake of letting them do EVERYTHING together. Now they will whine and tear things apart if they are seperated. Try taking one out on a ride or for a walk or something just to get them used to spending time apart. Other wise, its great having two, they have so much energy its hard to tire a boxer out on your own. Raven has never been happier and Im sure Pheonix is the same. They are both so well behaved when together its awesome.

I would give 2 thumbs up to having two boxers. Ours are almost 7 months old, not littermates, but 4 days apart. They DO tire each other out. Night and day having two as opposed to one, as far as that goes. Our first boxer would just NEVER tire - didn't matter how much exercise and play we gave him.
Expenses double, no doubt about it, but so does the love. The harder aspect with two is the training, but I take them both to their own puppy/obedience classes. They love getting their own one on one time, and then at home I work on their training both separately and together. They also get walked separately because they are maniacs when walked together. It's both comical and life threatening to take them together.
But all in all, we love having two. In our case, it's the best choice.

While i had begged for a second from the beginning....Sasha became so needy and apprehensive....she literally would sit in my lap at the computer or put her head on my lap while i was on the phone...playtime in the house would exceed 30 min easily....and she was impossible to please! So one morning hubby said i could 'start looking' for a second and i found our Telmar within 10 min...thank God we got him....he was a resuce and has been the best thing that we ever did...Sasha was always hubby's dog to begin with and now i have my boy.....i would do it over and over again. They are completely occupied and play with each other all day long....they DO compete for attention and the bills are twice as high and of course they fight over toys....(sounds like kids, eh>?)
I am begging now for a third.....
Can't wait to see pics and hear the stories.....
BTW....give them time to adjust....they probably will not remember each other....Sasha barked at Telmar for the first two weeks we had him!! One will more than likely establish themselves as the 'alpha'....there is lots of info here on that!!
You can start the new baby on the same food and see how it goes from there....our two have been on 'chicken soup' for almost a year, but we are going to have to switch one...even though they eat the same amount...Sasha is so skinny and Telmar is getting to be a chunky monkey!
