:I agree with everyone's comments, but all kidding aside, the theories and study of intelligence is an interesting field.
Take humans for instance, relatively recently there was a big shake up in the theories with how human intelligence is measured. One scientist in particular I remember is Gardner, he stated that people are not 'Black/white' intelligent, that there are many different levels of intelligence, and each person rates at a different level in each category, thereby making everyone unique
This theory has gained more and more popularity as of late and I do believe Dr. Gardner has a valid theory there. It certainly explains alot with respect to Autistic children,
Since humans are technically animals, I think it is worthwhile to look at that theory with respect to the other animals on the planet. If you extrapolate this theory to include dogs for instance, then it is quite reasonable to say that there are multiple types of intelligence in dogs, Now if you start to buy into that thought process, isnt it just a quick jump
to point out that the reason we have different breeds is that somehow on some level us humans recognized that there were different types of intelligence and we bred for the one we needed/wanted........therefore, the simple fact that we have distinct breeds of dogs validates that they have multiple intelligences......
Boxers are like no other breeds, because boxers were bred to be an all around working dog, a jack-of-all-trades type dog, one that could think on their own without having to be told what to do, dogs that were meant to be with the family all the time, is it so hard to believe (perhaps not for us
) that they can figure things out, do things other dogs wouldnt even imagine.....we made them to be that way, and what a wonderful decision that was!
