Boxer Insane
This is so very, very true. It is so easy to get frustrated when people say things that to us come across as "stupid," but it's really important to remember that being ignorant about something does not make a person stupid. I come from a family that really and truly treats our dogs like family members - they get the best health care, food, toys, sleep in our beds, etc. But none of them would even know what the term "backyard breeder" means, and I didn't either until I got involved with rescue. It's not always possible, but when I encounter these seemingly "stupid" remarks, I try to take advantage of the opportunity to help people learn.Originally posted by Bella'sMom
You know alot of people make these odd sometimes rude comments about our dogs(Boxers) and about breeding. I truly think they are just ignorant about breeding and the plight of homeless animals in this country. These comments that these people make give us as experienced dog owners a chance to educate.
Now getting back to the original post, I'm sure I would also have a hard time dealing with someone who expects me to measure the "value" of my dog by the amount of money he can bring in, but maybe it's another case of lack of information.
