I remember when you asked someone to do a job, it got done. You didnt get all these "it cant be done" "last time I did it, it crashed the system" People FIGURED STUFF OUT!!!! grrr.....ok maybe program management isnt where I want to be!

I remember having to speak to an operator before you got connected.

I remember when it was my job to change the TV channel. And you really had to crank it too. Then we got a TV with a remote... but it had a CORD!!

You were relatively safe being a girl! I think he prefers the boys right! Eww! :eek: Edit* all of you concerned about the sock comment! I'm talking about the flourescent tops, hot pink or green in the 80's that we had matching socks for. If you still are wearing things like that, you're beyond help! LOL! I did it because I was 12!

Ooooh, I hated Land of the Lost.... it scared me!!!

I remember when we could play outside, even though our parents had NO IDEA where we were, but they didn't worry as long as we were home by dark!
I remember when Friday night consisted of The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas, then bed.
I remember when we had metal lunch boxes.
I remember getting 13 CABLE CHANNELS for the first time!!!!!
I remember getting MTV (THAT was the COOLEST)!
I remember when Burt Reynolds and black Firebirds were COOL!
I remember when you actually had to GET UP to change the channel and turn a dial.
I guess that's enough for now.... this is fun!

Oh one more... We got a Rubic's cube for Christmas one time!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!

We must be around the same age. I was going to mention Fraggle rock. And Wanting to be as cool as Punky Brewster!! And sleeping on my back porch some nights in the summer with my friends (Not having to waorry about getting abducted)

I remember walking everywhere with no fear of anyone trying to grab you. (my almost 14 yr old dtr is NOT allowed to even walk to her friends house just a few streets away)

I remember when you actually had to hike it to the bus stop. Not like today where there is a stop every 13 seconds.

I remember when kids respected adults. (take a walk in the mall to see the utter disrespect kids have toward anyone)

I remember when people took responsibility for their own actions. Now they blame having a bad mother, an alchoholic dad, being poor, not having what others have and the list goes on.

I remember SMOKING in the mall, resturants, bars, and even the grocery store.

I remember when gas was under a dollar. i remember when we had the shortage and you could only get gas every other day, according to the number on your license plate.

I remember when anyone could by cigarettes..yes the LAW said 16 but no one stopped anyone.

I remember the first day MTV debuted.

Hell, I remember when MTV actually played MUSIC VIDEOS.

I remember having a pair of plyers on the TV knob that changed the channels and having NO remote or NO cable

I remember when computers were as big as rooms. And the internet was non exisitant.

I remember when no one every heard of AIDS (I actually have an Anatomy & Physilogy book from 1984 that doesn't have anything thing about AIDS)

I remember when I would come home do my homework, leave for hours until dinner, eat, go back out until curfew time. Nowdays kids rarely leave the house.

I remember when dogs were always roaming free..and being chased every day by the same ones going to and from school. When they weren't ever neutered/spayed, when they only went to the vet if they were really really sick and dogs were treated as 2nd class citizens and not members of the family :eek: I remember when Gaines Burgers were the rage.

I remember when John Lennon was shot, when Elvis died, and when Reagan and the Pope were shot.

I remember when electric windows in cars were an option! When an automatic shift was an option. I remember when cars actually had rust on them..can't tell you the last time I saw a rusted out car (they don't last long enough to rust anymore)

I remember when it was a travisty to be grounded to your room! Now they have everything IN their room so whats the big deal

I remember when mobile phones came out (not cell phones..car phones) they came in that black fake lather type bad..

I remember when cordless phones came out and they looked like you had a brick to your head w/an antenea.

I remember it was soo cool to have a beeper. Way before cell phones came out.

i remember when you knew all your neighbors and you had their back and they yours.

I remember when TV wasn't filled w/nothing but "Reality" shows.

I remember being so excited on Sunday night because I could stay up past my bed time to watch Mutal of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

I remember when there was NO swearing on tv..of any kind..when sexual situations were suggested but not shown

Geez..I am only 37 but I could go on and on..
