Seven years ago I lost my house and my parents bailed me out. It was so humbling. But I got back on my feet as fast as I could, paid my parents back, and our relationship is the better for it. You can get through this. My thoughts will be with you.

I called them again today, and they told me my application was still in review. This is so frustrating. This guy told me it could take up to 60 days!!!! It seems like everyone tells me something different! It makes it even more scary since no one seems to know whats going on. I just hope I get approved for this. He said that if it was still in review, they would push the sale date back. But I don't know if I trust anyone anymore. And I asked him for a number that I could call directly to talk to someone that is reviewing my case, since they send it to an outside company. He told me he could give it to me, but if I called, they would probaby delay the process on purpose since they don't like calls. WTH!!!! And another scary thing is that my mortgage company is Countrywide. I have heard only bad things about them, and I researched them online and found so many complaints. I am trying to stay positive, but it's so hard. I just hope I get that letter in the mail SOON, saying I am approved for this program. They told me to call every week, but it's not many weeks till the sale date! I will be calling again on Monday.
I wish I would have started soon, back in September, looking into more things I could have done, but I trusted Countrywide that they were going to handle this and I was going to be approved the first time. Now, it just feels too late. I just hope I get approved soon because I can't sleep, or study, or anything.

As much as it stinks, I think it may be time to call your mom. See if she will loan you the money you need to catch up on your payments and show up at the lenders with a check in hand. Nothing like cold hard cash to motivate people. I seriously doubt that the company would turn down a check that would get you free, clear and current, after all who wants more foreclosures I'm sure they have plenty of those as it is.

Sending out fresh streams of vibes to you in this difficult time.

I completely agree. It is much better to tell her now than to wait it out and possibly have to go to her at the last minute. I'd just suck it up and tell her asap. I think she'd be more angry if you waited until the last minute.

Sending vibes and prayers to you!

I agree. If there is anyway to get current than you should do it. It’s probably better to just suck it up and go to your mom then loose your house. As far as I understand the whole problem will disappear if you can get current. Also keep in mind that if you wait until foreclosure then they may not allow your mom to buy the house. The bank becomes the seller & they get to choose the buyer. You will have no control...

Call the bank and simply ask what it would take to get current and see if that would stop the foreclosure.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your house trouble. I've helped my children out over the years maybe not in a situation like yours but nevertheless as parents we want the best for our children. We all make mistakes and sometimes the hardest thing is the asking. I commend your wanting to take care of this yourself and hopefully you will but don't forget the one who gave you life will never turn her back on you. Good Luck.

I wish I could just pay what I am behind and become current and it will stop the foreclosure, but they wouldn't let me do that!!!! I forgot to pay for 3 months, but I HAD the money! Everyone asks me how I could forget, but I did, and I can't explain it. When I called them the very first time, I asked them if I could just pay the overdue amount to become current. They said no. You have to either get approved for some program (what I am currently trying to do), or pay the loan in full (which is close to the value of my house right now). I even mailed them the 3 months of payments and they sent the checks back... that was before I knew they were starting foreclosure proceedings. I was 10 days late (by the time they procesed my check, which took forever), on the 3rd month of being late. It sucks so much. I wish they would have just taken my check! So, my mom would have to BUY my house. It's not just asking her for money, she would have to get a loan and buy my house. We have talked before about her buying my house so we could get a lower intrest rate, but she is going to kill me now, and that I let it go so far. I just hope I get approved soon. I will let you all know what they say when I call on Monday. Do you think I should ask to talk to a supervisor if they tell me it's still in reveiw?

Here would be a shot in the dark. What if she would co-sign a loan for you to buy the house with a different bank? Can people do that? I'm not too sure. It would keep your house from selling, and get you away from that crappy bank. The loan would be in your name still, and you'd get approved because of your mom co-signing.
I will continue to pray for you.
