Such good news. Sending a new batch of good vibes and prayers.
Just catching up on how everyone has been and read through this thread. I know exactly how you feel in dealing with Countrywide. My SIL's mortgage is with them and they're threatening foreclosure on her house too, even though she died over a year ago. The house has been on the market for months with no offers. It's priced below market and is a good first home for someone in our area. We used the last of what was in her savings account to pay the mortgage through November, but I don't feel comfortable using our money unless I know we'll get it back at some point. With as bad as the real estate market is, it's entirely possible we won't be able to sell it for more than what's owed. If you can find a reasonable person there to talk to, I want a name and number!!
I am so sorry this continues to drag on and not go anywhere but down. If Countrywide is being sold, I am sure that place is utter kaos right now. No one knows what their job is, direction is totally slack and no one even knows if they will have a job once the sale is over. Perfect example of too many people running one business. Corporate world sucks!!! LOL
Is there any way you can re-finance through another company? Like maybe call a local company and explain your situation and see if they can help with a loan, or refinance, or even a direction you can take for some relief. I'd think they would be honest with you.
Also, write a letter explaining your situation and send it to every local and state representative and the Senator. You would be suprised how they can over ride corporate red tape and get answers you have been fighting for.
Maybe even call your local paper and get a story done on "what local tax paying americans are going through in this dying economy". The more people you have backing you and annoying Countrywide, will help get your resolution, or atleast some answers or direction.
It's a lot of work, but those gov officials do listen and do follow through. Some put in more efforts than others, but it will be one more voice that Countrywide will have to listen to.
