So I called today and I am kind of confused. I couldn't really understand the lady, but I think she said that I wasn't approved for the loan, that the amount I needed was too high??? WTF!!! I applied back in September, it wasn't my fault it got so high. I didn't say anything because she quickly applied me for this loan modification program. And then comes back to say it will be in review for 30 days. Grrrrr.... I just want to get this straightened out and done with!!! I want to be approved, I just want it to be done already! So, anyway, after she ran some numbers, she said that I would be approved, but I have to wait, and it could take 30 days to get the papers. Hopefully I get approved soon!!!!! So, it turns out, with the loan modification my montly mortgage payments will be LOWER!???!!?!!? I am so confused. Why couldn't they have done that to start with???? I hope I hear soon and I am approved and this is done with soon!!! It's taking way too long! At least there isn't a sale date as of right now, anymore. But I am still super stressed and worried. :(

I can see why you are confused, I am too  . This all sounds just so frustrating for you. Sending lots of prayers and a few wiggles your way.

Just catching up on how everyone has been and read through this thread. I know exactly how you feel in dealing with Countrywide. My SIL's mortgage is with them and they're threatening foreclosure on her house too, even though she died over a year ago. The house has been on the market for months with no offers. It's priced below market and is a good first home for someone in our area. We used the last of what was in her savings account to pay the mortgage through November, but I don't feel comfortable using our money unless I know we'll get it back at some point. With as bad as the real estate market is, it's entirely possible we won't be able to sell it for more than what's owed. If you can find a reasonable person there to talk to, I want a name and number!!

I think Countrywide is being bought out by Bank of America? I think that's what it is. Anyway, hopefully that will help!!! I am still dealing with those jackasses!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo frustrating!!!

I found out the other day that I could have paid what I was behind in the VERY FREAKIN BEGINING!!!!!! I asked them then (in sept) and they said I couldn't and sent my check back, the check that would have brought my loan current in September. Now that I haven't been allowed to pay for 10 months, I am over 15,000 behind!!! I don't have that money!!! I am beyond pissed. I have to contact "save the dream", and I think they can help or put me in touch with the proper resources.

I am so sorry this continues to drag on and not go anywhere but down. If Countrywide is being sold, I am sure that place is utter kaos right now. No one knows what their job is, direction is totally slack and no one even knows if they will have a job once the sale is over. Perfect example of too many people running one business. Corporate world sucks!!! LOL

Is there any way you can re-finance through another company? Like maybe call a local company and explain your situation and see if they can help with a loan, or refinance, or even a direction you can take for some relief. I'd think they would be honest with you.

Also, write a letter explaining your situation and send it to every local and state representative and the Senator. You would be suprised how they can over ride corporate red tape and get answers you have been fighting for.

Maybe even call your local paper and get a story done on "what local tax paying americans are going through in this dying economy". The more people you have backing you and annoying Countrywide, will help get your resolution, or atleast some answers or direction.

It's a lot of work, but those gov officials do listen and do follow through. Some put in more efforts than others, but it will be one more voice that Countrywide will have to listen to.

I agree completely, my Nana always said the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I would be an absolute nuisance and get as many other people to be a nuisance with me. As always good luck. Sending more good (((vibes))) your way.
