Bogeys Dad
Boxer Buddy
On Thursday, January 25th, I had to put my boxer down after 9 loving years of companionship. She fought a hard battle against cancer and finally had to be put to rest. I have been reading what people write about boxers on this website for 6 years and never thought that I would be in this position. My Bogey still had her mind and spirit, but her body was failing and she couldn't participate in the family events as she did in previous months and years.I feel as though I need to express my love and affection for my beloved lost friend in a forum where others could understand my attachment to my boxer. Only a parent of a boxer can understand the loss of another person's boxer. I could write a thousand pages of the wonderful memories I have of my Bogey. Even in her last breath, she extended her tongue to give me one more kiss before crossing the bridge. My house is empty now, it doesn't feel the same.
