I love my new Dyson

OK you guys, I finally took the plunge and bought a Dyson 07 Animal. I was tired of having to buy a new vacuum every year and I've read about how great this thing is. It was $499.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond, but I used my 20% coupon and got it for $399.99. DH wasn't so sure about spending so much on a vacuum, however I showed him the other prices (that actually weren't much lower) for crappy vacuums that we've had in the past. So I used part of my bonus this year from work to buy it for myself. I did a little happy dance on the way to the car and I think DH thinks I'm insane. Although I had to raise my eyebrows at him when he swore the vacuum is pink (it's purple... and he's colorblind )
I have one word: SICK. I can't believe how much pet hair and dust there was in my carpet!!! I had to empty it several times. My carpet looks shiny now (minus the icky pet stains that I need to have cleaned). I can't wait until the carpets are actually cleaned and then I can use the vacuum!
Overall, I'm very impressed so far. It's surprisingly quiet and the suction is great. I love being able to vacuum along the side of the wall and have the vacuum actually pick up those little tid bits that are stuck in that "dip" without having to pull out the hose to clean that area! With two long haired cats and two dogs (one of them a rottie that is shedding like a mad man), it seems worth the extra money!

I just don't have the funds yet, but I am working on it. I have read where other members at BW mention 10% off coupons from BB&B...is this something you get for having a card there or something? Do you know how someone could get one of these coupons? It was sure help on the cost!

Oh this sounds like something I need. I am a major clean freak- I can't stand my carpets being dirty. IT's a daily thing of vacuuming in my house with a gray/black mutt and a brindle boxer and white carpet--luckily my dogs love the vacuum. Sounds like I need to give my old crapper Hoover a break and invest in one of these Dyson ones.

It's actually a 20% coupon, even better. :D You just have to be on their mailing list and they periodically send coupons in the mail.

You can also go on e-bay and buy them for a few bucks. The good thing about their coupons is they accept them even if they are expired! The coupon I used yesterday was from October 2004.

Tyson HATED my old vacuum. He would bark and chase it, etc. I haven't vacuumed around him yet w/ the new one... he was stuck outside while I was vacuuming. The cats aren't afraid of this one though and they were of the other one... I think mostly because it isn't as noisy.

I have two Dysons one I bought another I won. They are okay, but there are many vacuums that clean much better and more reliable. I had a friend at BestBuy and got it, the yellow one for cost plus ten percent I think it cost 250.00 out the door.

Dyson complete

I just got the Dyson Complete, it is at Sears only I think. I got it back in January. I love it! I am a clean freak so I was excited when I got it and use it all the time. I knew that Boxers shed but when I am done vacuuming the amount of hair it picks up is unreal, not to mention the dust. When we first brought it home we used our old vacuum on a section of carpet and then used the Dyson...did our other vacuum even work? Didn't look like it. The Dyson still got up so much crap. My mom has since bought one. The complete is silver

I too love the Dyson Animal. I bought mine 6 months ago. I was very hesitant to spend $500 on a vacuum. I got mine on ebay & saved $100. I would look on there if someone is shopping. Just look out for new ones, some people sell refurbished ones. I just hope it lasts longer that the others.

You should come down to Oregon and buy one. It's not that long of a drive. I used to live up in Vancouver actually... have some friends there in Burnaby. Plus, no tax here! :D

I'm so glad to hear a review of a Dyson. I've been thinking about getting one for a long time, but hadn't met anyone who'd tried one. Hmmm - maybe I'll spend some of my bonus on that too! Great idea!
