Louise we are all here for you. No one is bored by any of this. By all means talk away. With that many Boxers and a Bulldog romping about she is keeping plenty warm especially for bed. They are probably all piled together nice and cozy. You did the right thing. Keep your head up.

Louise, Sorry to hear you had to rehome Angel. You did the right thing. It's not always easy admitting things are tough. Hang in there. I cannot imagine trying to cope with three, My boy is enouth for me.

I am ok, I just wish Pam would email me a bit more, I haven't heard anymore since yesterday morning. I do realise that she probably just needs time to settle.

This is her email -

Hi Louise

I am just emailing to let you know how Angel's first night went. She wouldn't
eat at dinner time, even when I tried to hand feed her. She came in with
Arun and Ria during the evening, but was quiet and withdrawn and just wouldn't
put her tail up at all. If Ria (12 weeks old) tried to play with her she
growled at her. So at bedtime I decided she really must be integrated
with the others, so she spent the night with Florence, Lana and Gertie bulldog
in a very big cage (double great dane size). She barked to get up at about
5am, and I ignored her.

I let them all out into the garden at 7am, and well, the change was incredible.
She jumped up to say hello to me with a waggy tail as they all do in the
morning, and ran with them all round the garden, exploring and leaping around
as if she has always been one of the gang. She allowed Ria to play with
her and really she just joined in with everything. When I put their breakfast
bowls on their racks in the run, she decided one of the racks was hers and
started to eat very slowly, just picking the meat out, but when the others
finished their food and came up to hers, she growled at them and wolfed the
rest down in seconds!!

My bitches are not submissive, but they are very laid back and happy and
really cannot be bothered to fight or make an issue out of anything. I hope
Angel will develop the same attitude. At the moment, she is outside with
the others. She is just walking around with them and going into the kennel
as and when. Her tail is up and she seems relaxed. The run is about 24ft
square with the kennel outside it. The kennel is not old, but it is well
chewed round the doors and pop-holes, insulated and very big - about 12 ft
by 6ft with two sleeping compartments each with a large bed in it. I put
clean vetbeds in every day so there is always a warm clean bed. Even so,
they all come in during the evening and night.

I will send you some photos when she is settled and keep in touch.

The only thing that bothers me is that Pams boxers obviously lead a more outdoor life. Angel isnt used to that environment, she has led quite a cosy life indoors except for her walks. What do you think? I know she will enjoy having lots of other boxers around, I just need to be reassured that she will adjust and cope.

Im sure will be fine I know with my two if they had a choice they would prefer to spend most of the time running around outside all year round.

I think that was a great email too. Louise, really, don't worry so much. Angel will be fine and it sounds like she is going to have a great life. I'm sure if dogs could talk to us, they would tell us they'd rather be running around in a huge garden with others than being indoors. When I take Brandi to the dog park, she goes nuts with happiness and hates leaving.

I’m so sorry your going through this. Even though Pam’s email was positive and reassuring it still brought a flood of tears to my eyes. All this must be very hard for you.

How are you holding up with your decision? Now that Angel is in her new home and things are settled do you feel you still made the right decision?

How many people live with Pam? It sounds like Angel has plenty of fur companions but how about enough people to give her pets, belly rubs & scratches?
