How much should a male boxer weight?

Bandit is approaching three years old and weighs between 85 and 90 pounds. He is no mound of pudge either. He is one solid pup. At a year old he was 76 pounds- but I have to tell you Bandit dwarves other Boxers in our area. He seems like a monster (sizewise). And I have to agree that looking at the parents is a good indicator. We knew the mother- she was very healthy at 55 pounds. After we decided Bandit was coming home, we got to meet the father. I was amazed when I saw him. Theo was four years old, and 95 pounds!!!! I couldn't believe it- I have never seen a Boxer that big. So I wouldn't worry it sounds like he's in the right weight range. Ask your vet also. Dogs are a lot like people, theor ideal weight is one thing but you need to take a look at the condition of the dog. Is he getting enough exercise?, How's his eating?, Can you count his ribs? I have seen a few Boxers in my area that are frightfully thin. This breed was originally meant for work- not prancing around a ring. (And I don't mean that negatively).

From the different standards that I have read, the only one that doesn't mention a weight guide is the American one.

Australian Standard
Males of 58cm (23") tall at withers - approx. 30kg (66lbs)
Females of 56cm (22") tall at withers - approx. 28kg (62lbs)

UK Standard
Males approx. 30 - 32kg (66 to 71lbs)
Females approx. 25 - 27kg (55 to 60lbs)

Germany Standard
Males of 60cm (23.6") at withers - over 30kg (66lbs)
Females of 56cm (22") tall at withers - approx. 25kg (55lbs)

boy zues seemed big to me but guess not when i went to pick up dulilah zues was bigger than her parents at least taller he's 16 months and weighs 53 pounds he's father was tall and thin mom was short and stocky
