Boxer Pal
Sorry about all the poop in this title/question, but I was wondering how much stool is too much stool aka something to be concerned about. My boxer is a 2 1/2 yr old 62 lb girl (she's big not overweight), who eats about 2 1/2-3 cups of Timberwolf Southwest Chicken kibble a day. During both of her daily walks, she will poop about 3 separate times. The first time is a big pile, the second a bit smaller and the third just very little (kind of like she's emptying out her tank, as we joke). The stool the first two times is solid in shape, but on the softer side. The final stool (when she's emptying) is a little runny.
Does this mean that she is not digesting her food properly? Or that she is allergic?
I dog-walk other dogs, and they definitely don't poop as much, and it's a bit more solid in consistency. When we switched her from science diet (what the shelter we adopted her from fed her) to higher quality kibble (timberwolf) i read that we might see her actually poop less, but that does not seem to be the case. We switched her food about 3 months ago.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.
