We got Mackensie at 6 weeks, and started house training immediately. She was pretty reliable, i.e occasional pee accidents by 12 weeks, and completely trained by 4 months. Keep in mind all dogs differ. Our friend's Boxer took about 6 months to be trusted not to go inside.

It usually doesn't start to sink in until around 6 months - Rowdy was almost a year until I could fully trust him. Some get it quicker than others.

ours were both really good, actually. maximus was pretty reliable by 3 mos (we were in an apt, 3rd floor!) but they were both consistently housebroken by 4-5 mos... doggie doors and routine help a LOT!! :)

Lola was really good and we had no accidents in the house from a young age, the boys were pains and took much longer. In fact Casper still has the odd accident here and there now and he's 6 months old :0

Grumpy got the basic idea in just a few days... but we did have the occasional "ooops" by the back door. There was also a phase (short, thank goodness!) where she thought that behind the couch was an acceptable second choice if no one was around to open the door! She was consistent - to the point of letting her roam the house and trusting her completely - at around 6 or 7 months.

We got Chief at 3 months. He was 5 1/2 months before fully housebroken. Good Luck! And yet... he's 9 1/2 months now and still occasionally has an oops. But, for the most part, at this point.... he's doing great! ;)

Kirra hit 4 months, learned to use the bell and 2 weeks later was totally trust worthy. Torin hit 4 months, took him about 4 weeks to use the bell and after that was totally consistent. My minpin on the other hand took 10-11 months before he was fully trained (small bladder I guess) :). Keep at it and good luck!!

my Rocky had issues so this is kinda funny... from birth to 8 weeks they were left all day long in a room and taught to pee on a puppy pad, they both worked days...* my opinion, BAD THING* they encouraged us to try and use these until he got comfortable after bringin him to his forever home with us and well I really think he was totally and completley confused... it was so hard for him to distinguish where to go, altho we took him out on a routine to go pee and poo... by 3 1/2 months he would go outside no problem, but being it was still chilly and he was a spoiled puppy, he would get his entire body out the slider and go pee and poo there... NOOOOOO so that was a whole other issue... we had to teach him to actually walk 6 more feet to the grass and his huge yard to make us happy...lol Lady had a big part with teaching him where to go she came home with us when Rocky was 3 1/2 months old, YAY...
