Cami
Boxer Insane
I've been so wanting a sign from Cami only I had not gotten one. I was very upset about that. Then yesterday happened!!!
DH came home from work and shared a story with me. He was at a local fast food joint ordering lunch. He is inside in line and hears a dog bark. He thought it was odd since dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. Hears dog bark again. Looks around thinking that perhaps it was a service dog with a customer inside BUT still thinks it odd since *most* service dogs don't "speak" while working unless the job calls for it. After the 2nd bark he realizes that he is hearing it through the drive-thru speakers AND that the bark seems very familiar to him. He glances over at the drive-thru window and what does he see?? A beautiful fawn Boxer girl in her people's car who looked directly AT HIM and did her very best kidney bean. He said he got teary eyed but smiled at the same time. She was wearing a collar that was very similar in color to Cami's (unique shade of blue).
So he is telling me the story and I am crying buckets. I am happy for him that she sent him a sign. I was just a bit jealous if truth be told and informed him of that thought but still so touched that he got to have that experience.
I had a late bedtime/potty visit for a Cocker Spaniel last night. Head over to the house and get her outside for a walk. Take her back in only to discover that her food bowl was empty. She has been on a bit of a diet to I was torn over what to do. With the weather the way it had been I didn't want to take any chances on the owners being delayed on their return in the morning so.....I cleaned both of her bowls and added fresh water to one and just a splash of food to the other.
We played for a bit and then I wrote a note to the client informing them of what I had done (giving food without instruction).
I had also realized while out walking her that tomorrow (today) was trash day and they had not gotten their trash out nor did they leave me a note asking if I would do it. I figure that they were going to be back so early in the morning that they would get it out then.
Start turning lights out and putting my coat on. Realize that I forgot to hang her leash back up in the garage. Open the door and see the trash. Decide that I will in fact get it out for them so they have one less thing to think about when they get home. Open the garage door and grab the large container of trash. Spot the recycle bin and look inside and carry it out as well.
With so much snow there was very little area to put both containers on the drive and still be able to get my car out. I decide to put the smaller recycle bin ON TOP of a huge pile of snow. I see the shadow of a man and a large black dog about two houses away heading in my direction. Don't give them a 2nd thought. Start heading back to the garage. Hear a screeching noise. Turn around to see the recycle bin sliding off the large pile of snow. Run towards it to catch it and reposition it.
Turn around and....wait for it......
....the man and his BOXER are right there. I drop to my knees asking if I can pet his boy. He replies that "Baxter" doesn't have the best manners and that they have been working on him but not making much headway. He keeps apologizing to me for his "behavior".
I don't know what came over me but I started telling this total stranger (through my tears) about losing Cami not even two weeks ago and I have been looking for a SIGN.
Baxter was wiggling and enjoying the attention. He was so unbelievably large! Dark brindle hence me at first perhaps thinking "black lab" when they were a few houses away. I told him that I had not even planned on BEING THERE at that particular moment (not going to take the trash out originally) but that Cami.......sent me a little piece of Heaven. The man and his dog start to walk away and I thank him for helping with the "message" and that he should know without a shadow of a doubt that he & Baxter sincerely touched my heart.
She may have already tried to send me a sign that I didn't catch or wasn't ready for BUT....she then thought...."If a Boxer doesn't do it for you mom then nothing will!"
So not only did she send a Boxer to her daddy but she also sent one to me on the exact same day.
Talk about special! Gotta love my girl. She always did everything 110%.
Mommy loves Baby Cami!!!!! lovicon
