how do you clean your lamp shades?

I have white cloth lamp shades on my lamps. They are starting to get dusty, and collecting the dog hair, and I just don't like it! I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to clean them? Thanks!

I vacuum mine. I use one of the attachments. Quick and simple

I have vacumed them with an attachment, but it does not pull off the "fine" hair. Also the white is not as bright as it was when I first got them!!

I vacume with the brush attachment and they look pretty good, but my shades are off white so whos knows.

Could you vacuum them the best you can and then take them outside with a dilute bleach solution. It would get the whiteness of them back...

probably better ideas out there

I use the carpet cleaner and put one of the attachments on it and use it on light scrub. Be sure to take the shade off the lamp first though

i have black ones i hate them..but i use a tape roller works pritty good...

I would presume alot of people do clean them, unless you keep the plastic on them!! I never thought of it unitl I just recently brought our computer downstairs, and I am directly beside a lamp!! Its got little dog hair, some fuzz/lint, and its not as bright as it use to be!! I am such a clean freak, its bugging me to no end..what if someone see's it!! ahhh!! I don't can't buy new lamps just cause they are dirty! My fiancee would kill me!! Plus I like them, they are elephants, hard to find!

Anyway Most of my lamps are glass on top and bottom, but my daughter actually does use the upholstery attachment with her sweeper and her carpet shampooer to clean lamp shades. Good luck!
