how do you clean your lamp shades?

Vacuuming is the best way to clean a fabric shade. If there is still dog hairs, you might try using tape to remove it. Lint rollers will work but, aren't quite tacky enough to get all the hair. If the shade has dirt spots or smudges, thay more than likely won't come out. BF owns a company that manufactures lampshades. Maddie has left her paw prints on more than one shade and they had to be scrapped. -Jan

This is Larry. You should all buy lots of new lamp shades. LOL Seriously though, I make and wholesale them for a living. I've made several million of them. Jan gave a good answer if you've already taken the mylar (plastic) off. If you haven't, you can wipe the mylar off with a damp sponge. When you do finally take the mylar off, it's like you have a new shade. We wrap our shades with mylar (same thing as the plastic that's around cigarette packages). Some companies use cheap looking baggies to cover them.
