King size beds definately don't help! At this point... they just lay sideways with their legs poking you in the back!

Ah, I wish I knew. The night starts out with them on their comfy custom beds. There are four different types of dog beds for three dogs. By morning both of the Boxers have snuck into bed with us. We never feel them sneeking in.

We also plan to get a king sized bed. As a matter of fact that was what we did today. I know it will not make a difference. The bed could be the size of the room but the Boxers will always want to lay right on top of you. Literally. Mine are not capable of cuddling beside me. They must lay directly on my spine.

Our breeder feels that they have the answer. They have a king sized bed and across the bottom of their bed is a twin bed that is sideways. This creates a foot to the bed and their dogs are trained to sleep at their feet.

We do not have that kind of space. Nor do I want to ban them from the room. So alas, we will tolerate the bed abuse our Boxers give us. After all, it is all about them. The lunatics run the asylum here.

We also know all to well about this- I always said I would never have a dog sleep with me but.....its those eyes.
Here is what we finally did and works for us.
We put 2 dogs beds together on my side of the bed and they are in kind of a corner.
We go to bed 1/2 hr before we would normally go and let them fall asleep with us then we can get one to get down and the other one we have to pick up and lay down on her bed. Works out great for us.
but if we dont let them fall asleep with us they wont do it as easily.
they do have a routine now where they creep up around 5 am but that is fine. gives some time to cuddle with them before the day begins.

we use to joke about buying another bed and putting it together with ours. the realality of that is they would still sleep in between us.

Yeah! Although a good idea... You'd need a pretty large room to pull that off :)

In summer whens its really hot Dakoda prefers her own bed and I often cant sleep because I'm so used top having her on top of me its quite strange when shes not there. Winter is worse because she wants to be as close as possible aswell as being under the blanket. However, if she lays down on her own bed and we cover her with her own blanket she will SOMETIMES last all night, she only comes onto the bed when shes cold.
No matter how bad my back hurts I cant seem to bring myself to actually want to have her off! I'm sure that will change when we get our second or when we decide to have kids, I dont want to even think about being pregnant and having her log legs poking me!!

Do your dogs have beds in other rooms and know the command "on your bed"? That is how I got mine out of my bed. I put towels on the floor and told them "on their beds" and they laid on the towels. When they get to the towel (or you can use a real dog bed) throw treats at them so its a good place to be. It takes a few nights, but it works.

The other thing that some one else suggested, is that mine know that they arent allowed on the bed unless I invite them. So, if they are not allowed on the bed, you could provide them a good place to be - the towel, or you can use the crates with the doors open.

Just an idea
