We are in a similar situation....sort of. We have been in a queen bed which suited us fine until we let Rocco sleep with us. We swore never to let that happen because we knew he'd never sleep anywhere else again. Well now, we have remodeled and our new furniture (and king bed) is coming tomorrow. appicon We love him cuddling with us but the boxer bedhogging has caused us many uncomfortable sleepless nights. I am off tomorrow morning to find the cuddliest dog bed I can possibly find for Rocco....we'll see how it goes.
Good luck to you....I hope you get your bed back soon!

I have always allowed my dogs to climb into bed when they were puppies and at around 5/6 months stopped the habit. Odie was more like 9 months. All my dogs have learnt that they are only allowed onto the bed when invited.

As everyone has said consistancy is key, you can't sometimes allow them and other times not. I think that only once they know they aren't allowed on the bed can you teach them to come up when invited.

I would suggest a comfy continental pillow or dog bed next to your bed. And even if they try to climb up 100 times in a night, you have to redirect them to the pillow 100 times. It will mean a few tiresome initail nights but they will get the message, AS LONG AS YOU DONT GIVE IN !!! lol

Good luck !!

We have a king size bed and dh and I aren't small by no means, we have our 2 babies sleep with us. Usually our girl will get down and sleep in her bed. We have found that if you cuddle them under the blankets, they will get hot and jump off. Our boy usually makes a mad dash for the pillows and sleeps up there. Since we have 3 each, it's not a problem. We have gotten use to them sleeping with us. In fact, if we notice one is off the bed, we go searching for him or her. Good luck cause I think you're stuck! I dont have any advice but I do have a story that will make you a little jealous lol
Last night bf and I were up a little later than usual. We decided to put Roscoe in bed with us when we went to bed (he usually sleeps in his crate next to the bed). He fell asleep in bed with us and I woke up this morning to him not in bed. I freaked out thinking he had went into the living room and pottied all over and eaten everything he could. I didnt hear him out there though, so I looked down next to the bed and there he was, sleeping soundly in his crate, with the door open! Mind you, he NEVER goes in his crate to sleep unless put in there :) What a silly boy!!

Dh and I have said for a long time that if we are ever rich we are going to have a custom bed built that is the size of an entire room..mattress from wall to wall. Then maybe...just maybe he and I will get some room and more importantly some blankets to sleep with!!! As much as it is aggravating sometimes b/c they are bed hogs, we miss them when we are out of town, it's like we can't get a comfortable nights sleep any longer without being squished by two stinky butt boxers.

We have a queensize bed too with two boxers and we can sleep comfortably with them Harley sleeps at the bottom he's large Foreman sleeps between our legs. I am buying them a new bed I saw one they will love but its over 100 dollars I just bought them a new one and its to small for Harley and they don't like it. Usually Harley or dh will leave in the middle of the night if its too crowded. If we go to bed real late and they are asleep they won't come or if our kids aren't home they sleep in the living room waiting for them.

I got Harley used to sleeping on the floor and then dh made him come back in the bed so if its too crowded he can leave.

I am blessed. Dakota prefers to sleep in his crate. He sleeps with the DW for a about an HR, While I am doing paperwork. when it is time for me to go to bed, I kick him out of bed(Him toooo big 73 lbs 27" @ the shoulder) he goes and gets in the crate in the DS room. When we got him in July @ 10 months, we got him a very large crate and that is where he slept ever since.

Put them in their crates, I know it hard, but YOU will be better for it.

Peyton will start off in her crate which she has a pillow and some blankets in and some how in the middle of the night she sneeks up on the bed and sleeps between us...she is really good at sneaking cause i don't wake up til she trys to push me off the bed so she can be comfortable.

good luck with trying to sleep in your own bed. I've got 3 of them and I barely get a pillow. They each have their own flannel blankey and small pillow. I get mine.

It's pretty much a free for all as far as who gets in bed first and gets space. I don't move and I would advise you to "take" your space just like they do. If you happen to push someone out of the bed, get comfy as quick as possible then they can work their way in around you.
