Giotto

I called my brindle male boxer Giotto (like the famous painter) because he has the top of his (not cropped) tale white and it seems like a paint-brush .

Our puppy's name

Our little brindle guy is named "Jag".

We arrived at our puppies name by my husbands ultimate vehicle the "Jaguar" of which Jag is a nickname. Jag also means "The Universe" and is of male gender.

I just love reading all the different names on this site. It is amazing how creative people are when it comes to naming their pups. I look forward to reading all the interesting posts for this forum.

Boxer Buddy
I rescued Snap from Boxer rescue, when her owners wouldn't pay to have her broken leg fixed, and called rescue instead. The vet that set her leg is my best friend, and told me to take a look at her - that I'd love her (I did, and I did!) In honor of her "snapped in half" leg, I named her Snap.

I'm now getting ready to send in her ILP paperwork to AKC (I compete in agility), and I'm pretty sure her registered name will be "Break a Leg" - I'm also into Shakespeare, and that phrase originated during his time. And it just fits.....

Our Boxer's name is Lambeau. We (especially my husband) are big Packer's fans...so the name comes from Lambeau Field. And he is a pro at the "Lambeau Leap"! ;)

I love reading all the fun names!

I named Logan after my favorite comic book character Wolverine. Wolverine is a strong, vicious character who has big sense of pride and honor. Well basically that fits my pup except for the vicious part. Of course most of the time I call him Buddy and my wife call him Logi Bear.

My wife chose Mitka from the Bible. Mitka means sweetness. Most people call her Sissy because they have a problem saying her name. It's pronounced as it's spelled Mit ka.

Toni's full name is Toni Kudzu. My boyfriend and I were high school sweethearts, and as "young lovers" will do, we dreamed of the day we would marry and have children. We wanted a daughter named Toni. When I decided to get a puppy I figured Kudzu would be a good middle name. For those of you that don't know what kudzu is, it is a vine that completely takes over wherever it grows. I figured that she would take over my heart and life. So we now have our daughter, Toni (we are too old to have skin kids) who has definitely taken over our hearts and lives.

German Name

Hello,

Our Boxer puppy is 10 1/2 weeks old now and it took us until 6 weeks after she was born to name her. I am german, so it HAD to be a german name for her. That was hard, I even went to Germany for a 5 weeks visit and asked around for a good german name. They name their dogs over there the same names we do. Well, we did come up with one:
"Nikens (Kennel Name) Gauner-Liesel von Page 1" Gauner in german means little rascal, Liesel is a shortened name for Liselotte or Elizabeth, Page is puppies Moms name and the 1 stands for her 1st litter. Her call name is Liesel.
And she definatly is a Gauner-Liesel. LOL...............

We named our first boxer Martin (Marty) der Busenfreund (sp?). Sorry, can't remember if I am spelling it right. The Martin is after my good friend from Czech Republic who is a professional hockey player & after Mark Martin (my husband's favorite NASCAR driver at the time) der Busenfreund (bussom buddy) was the closest German translation I could get to best friend. Marty went to Rainbow Bridge on 8-31-02, the day after his 2nd birthday.

We were so devastated with the loss of Marty, but knew that we wanted another puppy. My hubby wanted one with the same birthday, but, well, that was impossible. I finally found a litter in NC - about 5 hours from home. The birthdate was 7-21-02, but we did not get the pup until 10-18-02. While we were waiting until the day we could pick him up, we searched for names & never really settled on one. Being a hockey fan, I wanted to name him Winger & the hubby did not like that. Said it sounded like Weiner. He suggested Puck, but that was a no-go with me for several reasons - Puck on The Real World (MTV) &, well, it could sound obscene.

The breeder called him Bozo because he was the clown of the litter. Well, I did not want a Bozo - although looking back, it really does fit. LOL!
On the drive home, my mom & myself were trying out names. I pasted by a road sign that read "Chance" & knew that was it. His AKC name is Dixon's Second Chance. Kind of speaks for itself........our second chance with a Boxer.

Our 1st boxers full name was Lacosta's (the breeder) Jersey (that's where we lived at the time) Devil (which he was when a pup). This past February was a year since he went to the Rainbow Bridge. But we called him Mik from the movie Crocodile Dundee (Mick Dundee) but I changed the spelling to make it alittle different.
Our present boxers full name is Fisher's (the breeder) Maximilian (an Australian dictator) Gold (why gold? Couldn't think of anything else at the time! And it sounded ok.) But we call him Max for short. Some other nicknames are Knot-head, Bupper-head, Bupper Lynn, Maxi, Maxi do do. When he is in trouble we call him Maximilian. He was supposed to be called Berkley (in honor of the town in NJ where we got our 1st boxer) but he didn't look like a Berkley.
