my pup's name

I like names that mean something. Our black cat's name is Onyx! Layla's registered name is Bella Larcon Layla.
Bella=beautiful (italian, b/f is italian)
Larcon=fiery one (irish, im irish)
Layla=dark-haired, which she is quite dark, with all her stripes!
I also like Ava, short for avalanche, or Pearl for a white boxer. I know there is one on here. I do also like Quinsi's name! Too cute! I want a white baby next, so I'll be thinking of names for it!

I came up with Harley's name. My son wanted a "tough" name for her and I wanted something more girly (although it is a unisex name!).

My husband named Chloe within 10 minutes of driving back home from the breeder's house. :) I had a list of names but none of them sounded right. He just said "Chloe. It should be Chloe." I love it!

Rexsmom

Boxer Buddy
We got our boxer from a friend who kept having neighboors complain that he would try to attack them (at 4 months old) LOL, and they had to get rid of Droopy, at the time. So our friends gave Droopy to our family for my husbands birthday. We really didn't like the name Droopy so we decided to change it. Well, my husband is in love with his car, 2002 Subaru WRX. So it was between Subie and Rex. Subie sounded more like a girls name so that's how Rex got his name. After my husband's car, of all things. But it suit's him. He's a tough little booger.

Gruntsmom

Boxer Insane
My husband named our male reverse brindle Grunt, Warriors' Pride, in honor of the many grunts he served with during the Viet Nam war, and during his career in the Army. He had the name picked out before we even went to pick our baby boy out at the breeder's. I only call him Grunt when he and I are having a training session, other times, mostly it's Biggy Boy, BB or Baby Boy. My husband cringes!! But we are proud of our Grunt, and what his name stands for. There are a bunch of Marines that live in our complex, and they think it is a great and honorable name. :)

I had my new, unamed puppy for days.... searching for a name that made some profound statement ..... Her and I were out one day. She waited in the car, (safely) as I ran into a store. When I returned, she had gotten into my briefcase, pulled ALL of my papers out and scattered them throughout the entire car........ I shouted...... "you TYRANT!" It was a true Boxer puppy moment and having known her core was divine, I added "Lover". With
"TYRANT LOVER" being such a masculine name, she's often called "Tyra".

Leo13

Boxer Pal
We were trying to get a Boxer from a Rescue League. We saw the name "Leo" and fell in love with it. When we did get our baby, we had to name him Leo!

Chewie - b/c she made noises like Chewbacca from Star Wars

My Boxer's names

We have Leonard (after Sugar Ray Leonard, of course), and Layla, (after Leila Ali, but we spelled it differrent). OH, my Dad has always called me Leonard since I was a little girl, so my boy Leonard's name has a double meaning!!!

We had lists of names... based on literature, musicians, movies and personal jokes that we had. It was a lot of fun coming up with names, but our friends did NOT have the same taste as we did. Willis ended up being Willis because of Kris's love for 70's and 80's sitcoms. I bought him a t-shirt last year that has Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes on it that says "Whatchoo talkin' bout?" He was wearing it one day, and we realized "Willis" would be perfect. (see my gallery!)
