A cook out sounds great! I can bring hotdogs and buns, along with some pretzels, and a dessert. Since I'm bringing hotdogs should I pick up ketchup and relish too??

I'm sorry I've been MIA, but we went to Flordia this weekend and was outside too much to check the thread... I was surprised at how much I missed since Friday!!

The per user cost works for me, and we are planning on bringing some supply donations for the rescue groups.

I have to say both my husband and I are also looking for work. I am really disapointed but there is no way I can go at that price. My DH would kill me. It is bad timing right after Christmas and Abby had her surgery back in September which we are still paying off on the visa. This sucks, Abby would have had a blast. Sorry, it is just too much money plus food and gas.

Anyways, good luck on the job interview. We have been to the large animal clinic with our horses before. Looks like they may finnally have a token intelligent person on there staff, vets included!

I wish it was cheaper but that is the bottom line price she can give me and that is with me cleaning the facilities myself. I mean the place in Guelph was $75 for 4 hours.. but would only fit about 6-8 dogs so it wasnt big enough. I am quickly looking into wag'n'train again but again I have to have 2 million liablility insurance which could be quite costly but I am looking into that also. I will let everyone know as soon as I find out about the cost for the insurance. Wag'n'train is much bigger and the preferred facility, but I do not need to get insurance for Delightful Dogs.

Here's hoping that insurance is cheap!

I think we should pay per user. I think that's fairly fair and the best option I don't mind paying alittle more LoL. And it's sure better than a 100$ like some would have to shell out.

I was thinking about making a tune salad, getting some chips and so on... I'll bring whatever I can LoL How's that?

Per User it is then. so count on ~$50.00 cdn for now + any food you can bring.

I am making some calls to inquire about using the wag'n'train facility. It just so happens that it may work out cheaper and since they use the same insurance company as me we may be able to work out a deal. I will keep everyone posted it is very near to the Delightful Dogs location so driving times won't change. It is a larger facility and is $45/hour to use with a $100 cleaning deposit and they retain $40 for the cost of cleaning. they have rubber floors too. I would most like to use this facility but Delightful dogs is fine also. I will keep everyone posted on my findings, I will know about insurance costs by friday evening.

I'll bring some pop or drinks, everyone can say their favourite and I will try to supply 'em! I do think, though, that there should be a back up person for the drinks, because if the weather is crap the night before or the morning of, I will probably not be allowed to go. Since my name ain't on the lease, where I go with the car is ultimately up to my parents :( AND THEY'RE WORRY-WORTS! .

Also I think the pay per user is the best option, I don't mind paying an extra $2 or $3 so that someone doesn't have to fork out a ton. I was wondering, though- what happens if someone isn't able to make it? Do they still pay, or does everyone pay a bit more? Or, if the weather is horrible, and lots cancel, do we all just not go??? Because us in Ottawa are going to need a lot of notice before we embark on the perilous journey to K-W. But would we still have to pay, even if none of us go, because the place had been booked?? Lots of questions .

Ok well we can only do our best as far as weather goes. I guess if weather looks bad we will postpone the event so no one has to pay. I would appreciate it if anyone cant come they let me know because yes it will effect the cost. If too many people cancel then I can always change the location to guelph if there are only going to be 6-8 dogs.

As I said before I am looking in to another location which is cheaper per hour but I would have to obtain insurance. No matter where we go waivers will have to be signed since I am the one organizing this event I do not need to be sued! I will update everyone when I hear on insurance costs on friday

My good news... I GOT THE JOB!!!! WOOOO WOOOOO!

I am still waiting to hear what is going on with the other location. The owner of delightful dogs is being a little weird since I couldnt make our meeting on monday evening due to work. So I am trying to see if we could re-schedule our meeting to another day and she seems hesitant. I am interested to hear what the insurance guy says about the other location, because if the lady from Delightful dogs is being difficult because I couldnt go to a meeting I am thinking she may be a little difficult about the whole thing now, but who knows!

Insurance guy is calling me back in a few minutes to let me know about insurance for the event if held at Wag'n'Train, they want $45/hour plus $100 deposit for cleaning costs and they retain $40 to cover cleaning costs. I am hoping honestly that the insurance is reasonable since I have been getting more of a straight answer from them than delightful dogs.
