Embaressing

Before my boyfriend and I moved out on our own I was living with my dad and our two boxer babies. I was away for the weekend and my dad was watching the dogs for me. He called me and asked what I had been upto lately and it seemed as though the dog had gotten into the garbage in my room. My dad was letting them outside and noticed something strange coming out of Leila's rear end and went to inspect it and sure enough it was a condom. Glad it was my parents and not the inlaws.

Oh, we have been there! A couple months ago, Bongo discovered that he could pull on one loop of the carpet and a whole bunch of it would unravel with a nice, satisfying popping sound (kind of like bubble-wrap, I suppose . . .). I thought I had gotten all the yarn picked up, but two days later he hacked up a solid ball of carpet yarn that was bigger than my fist. We just stared, dumbfounded, at the size of this mass. I got really upset later when I realized how dangerous that was -- my baby could have died!!!

My husband has been working nights for the last couple of months, and he uses little foam industrial earplugs so he can sleep during the day. Well, I often let Bongo be the one to "wake up Daddy", and he has eaten countless of these earplugs that my husband has lost track of. They always turn up within a day or so . . . too gross. Now, Bongo is constantly sniffing around my husband's nightstand seeking out those tasty little orange treats!

And, like Camille, I have had to extract stuff that gets caught part-in/part-out when Bongo poops. I've decided that there is really nothing that can truly gross me out anymore.

My dog also eats my husband"s foam earplugs! You be surprise how big they grow when they come out the other end. UGH!!!!!!!!!!

we were not so lucky

we just lost our shep mix last month. He swallowed a huge tennis ball ( in chunks) The vet reassured us that as long as he was pooping/eating/drinking, it would pass and he was not blocked so did not need surgery.We kept waiting for it to come out. But he died.She had said it was just Dietary Indescretion and he'd be fine.
