Maggyboxer
Boxer Pal
I own a 4 year old Boxer named Maggy and I just discovered Boxer World! I was researching other Boxers who have gone through the TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) and this wonderful website appeard. I am hoping to retrieve information regarding this surgery and moral support from other Boxer owners. Many dogs have this surgery for their dog's torn ACL or for a dog Cranial Cruciate Ligament but I believe that Boxers and their owners who go through the LONG healing/recovery period have even more of a challenge because of the Boxer breed's enthusiasm, playfulness, love to jump and run etc. which they are not allowed to do for 12 weeks!! Aaaagh! My Maggy had surgery October 23rd and has her 6 week post-op xray next week. She will have her 12 week xray at the end of January and we hope and pray she will be able to gradually resume her pre-injury activity in February!! To say "keeping her quiet and confined during this post-op period has been challenging" would be a HUGE understatement! Maggy does not understand "WHY" she is not allowed to run and jump, get up on furniture, be off-leash and has to stay in her kennel confined so much! It is torture for Maggy and our entire family! I apologize for writing a novel but it is therapeutic to vent. Thank you for allowing me to do so. I look forward to hearing other Boxer Stories about anything and everything as well as the TPLO surgery and just general information about this most wonderful breed!
