Hello,
My name is Michelle, and my significant other and I have two wonderful, charming boxers, Rupert and Izzy.
Someone gave us Rupert when he was just 8 weeks old. He's a 1.5-year-old neutered fawn with an excellent temperament. He's pretty laid-back and calm for a boxer. He's a late sleeper, and prefers to lounge around on the couch in the mornings. But we manage to get him up and out of the house for a nice, long walk every morning. He also loves his trips to the dog park about five times a week. Rupert is my true love, and every day with him in it is better than the one before.
We recently adopted Izzy, an almost-5-month-old little white boxer baby. Her previous owners weren't prepared for her energy level, and they didn't have the time for her. She was kept in the backyard all day long, and began escaping. At that point, they tried keeping her on a dog run, but she chewed through the cable. They made the decision to re-home her, and that's where we came in. :o) She really needed some attention and love, and we really wanted another boxer to keep Rupert company. I work from home, so Rupert was never lonely. But since I am not willing to get on all fours for a rousing game of mouth-to-mouth rope tug, another dog was in order. Our little Izzy is a bit underweight (her previous owners' other dog was eating her food, and they were feeding her an adult formula), so we're fattening her up. She's a lover and we are blessed to have her with us.
Izzy's not quite used to going for walks, so our daily on-leash forays have been a wee bit frustrating, but she's getting better every day! And our big boy Rupert is really helping with the training. He body blocks her when she tries to pull (and boy does she try to pull), and used his pay to push her backside down when she tries to jump. He's such a good boy!
