Going a little overboard when it comes to your boxer?

I wouldn't call it overboard. I'm sure anyone will do the same with children. We plan our vacations around them. I have gone maybe once without the dogs and had to board them and that was horrible. I missed them so much and we came back early. We go camping so we can take the dogs. On the weekends, when it's nice, they go to the park at least one of those days. We don't stay out late as well or stay over at someone's house and forget the dogs. They are more than just dogs, they are our children. YES, the are also soooo spoiled. They get to go everywhere they can with us. Don't worry, you're not crazy and if you are, we're just as crazy as you are!!

my life does revolve around my boxers. they pretty much rule the roost around here. it gets so bad that i will get off the couch just so that they can both lay together and be comfy. i know it is bad. but they are my kids the only kids i will ever have and they are time consuming but they bring such joy to my life (most of the time)
today they tore us a couch cushion and yesterday it was plants waiting to be planted in the garden. I did get upset with them, but it is my fault as well i have been giving them too much freedom and i have to remember they are only pups yet.
Live and learn. they have to get to the dog park TODAY!
People sometimes dont get it how i feel about my dogs. I really dont care anymore. i will also not go places because i dont want to leave them for too long. they are so sensitive about things. they are dogs that are all about pleasing you and just wanting your affection.

I do admit that I plan a lot of activities around Koa. I don't stay gone for long unless someone is at home with him & I makes sure he has all his supplies. Blanket, toys, etc. They really are like children.

We do the same thing. Our lives are led by the fur babies. We plan everything according to them. How long we'll be gone, can they go, etc. So yeah, we're insane also!

our dogs have their own room
and we just bought a new SUV....guess what it's filled with!!
DOG CRATES. and since there is not an inch to spare for anything else to fit inside....when we go on vacation to Maine in October..WITH OUR DOGS...we will have to buy a small trailer to haul our luggage and stuff.
our schedule revolves around our dogs and i bring them all to work with me every single day!

BW is the only place I have to relate to my love for my "babies." My DH loves them VERY much but gets tired of me talking about them constantly. I refuse to go out during the weeknights because we work during the day and I miss them. They have thier own room with their own television thats on Animal Planet.

I cannot express how angry it makes me to hear "they're just dogs" or "but my parents crated all day and night so its okay" - all kinds of crap like that. I just don't see the point in doing something (like getting a pup) if you can't do it right. Right to me isn't comprimising when it comes to Titan and Zeus. I love them and I just want them to be happy and healthy! :D

Anyway, a sincere thank you to all of you BW members who are as crazy about your fur-kids as I am. You are the only way I keep my sanity...

I'm nuts as well. My Neva wears Coach. She has had Coach collars sine we got her as well as a Coach leash and coat. DH thinks that is a bit much but nothing is too good for my girl. Neva is the only other girl in the house to be girly with! She has a toy box just as full as it should be. My Mom calls her "Granddog" and sends her gifts along with the boys suprises so Neva wont feel left out. It is so bad that any time a package comes, Neva gets all excited thinking it is hers.

I am so relieved to know I'm not the only one!!!
Grumpy is so spoiled. We take her everywhere. If I'm gone more than 3 hrs, she goes to daycare. I practically live at Petsmart even though we don't buy anything but toys there, it's Grumpy's favorite place to go.
We only eat at places with dog-friendly patios... a few weeks ago we ate outside with her in the pouring rain. She was nice and comfy under the table, but the waiter had to prop an umbrella over our table. The owner came out and asked if we wouldn't like to come inside, said the valet could pull our car around so Grumpy could wait in the car for us... we looked at him like he had two heads. Leave the dog in the car? Not us.
I used to think it was cuz she was a baby and I would spoil her less as she got older... um, no, it gets worse every day!

sounds like an idea, we dont have any dog parks around here . chloe loves to meet new friends. where in dutchess is the park?

I know what you mean!!! We tend to plan our weekend activities around what the dogs could do with us!!! They have it lucky throughout the week because my DH and I work opposite shifts!!! So the weekends~ we like to plan a fun event for us and our doodle-bugs!!!
