Our lives revolve around our boxer. Everything we plan, we keep our girl in mind. We don't go out late at night, so she won't be all alone and scared. We never leave her alone for more than 2 hours. If people don't want our dog in their home, we just don't visit them. My mom moved to another state, so I didn't go to school this semester, since there's no one to watch her during the day (my mother-in-law comes in the fall, so I'll just go then). Our boxer has her own room. She spends her whole day in there in the winter. It's full of toys, bones and has big windows (she spends hours watching people walk by).
I've been called crazy lots of times because of this. Anyone else here that "boxer crazy" or am I just insane?

Well, I'm not as bad as you, but we do have it pretty bad. I got Daisy while I was in college, but she still was never alone for more than 2 or 3 hours. I arranged my schedule with breaks between classes so I could take her out. DH doesn't want me to get a job because Daisy would be lonely, and we are looking for a puppy just so she will have a friend. She also has her own room with toys and a big bed in front of huge windows but she won't stay in there by herself. She wants to be in whatever room her dad is in, and mom will do when dad is at work.

My mom is pretty bad too. She sends Daisy (her grand-dog) a card every month with $5 for McDonalds chicken nuggets. I have tried to tell her that stores in Germany don't take US dollars, but she does it anyway. When we lived with her, she bought Daisy something almost every single day.

our live always revolve around our dog and our son, now that he is older its mostly chloe. we dont visit unless they allow chloe to come if not then you come to our home, we have christmas here since getting chloe because my husbands brother in law didnt want the dog on his hardwood floors, fine with me i prefer having christmas at my home anyway with people coming here. she is never left alone only once in her life did we have to leave her for two hours that was it. vacation? dont know it  i make sure to do shopping when my husband or son is home so she isnt alone, so i guess you can say yes we schedule everything around chloe.

We rarely eat out in the winter. In the summer, we take Bayleigh with us. We find a restaurant that has outdoor seating and allows dogs or we get take out and have a picnic at the park.

Because of all the dog food recalls, I have recently started homecooking. Of course, my parents think I have completely lost it. I like to cook and make a big batch once a week and freeze. And it's a little cheaper than the kibble!

And Bayleigh usually gets a new toy every other week!

Lola's mum

I wouldn't say our lives revolve around the dogs but we used to be real party animals out every weekend (very handy having your mum live with you for minding the kids) and summer used to be a huge run of BBQ's at friends houses, all day & night ones but now I don't want to go anymore. I'd rather not leave the dogs alone. My mum rarely goes out but always goes to my brothers on a Sat & Sun daytime (only lives around the corner so she comes home in the evening) so I say ok I'll go but join them later when mums home  Dh does get a little cross with me but that's tough ;)

I love the way my life is now and a lot of that is to do with our dogs.
My kids are older now and need me less & less, I'd feel almost redundant without Lola Zeb & Casper. They wouldn't have fitted in with our life style say 10 years ago but now it's perfect :) I love them to bits, I love the exercise I get and the routine we have got. I actually jump out of bed and look forward to seeing their waggy nubbies the way I used to look forward to seeing my children in the mornings when they were young (not that I don't look forward to seeing them now but they're 14 yrs & 18 yrs old)

I can't imagine my life without them, they keep me sane & grounded :)

My Bf thinks I'm totally crazy about Chance. It kills me to have to leave him in the morning when I go to work, but the BF is in construction so he's usually only gone 4-6 hours at the most so he's not left alone for too long. We do leave the radio on and we turn on animal planet so he has something to do. And yes ALL of our plans revolve around Chance, if he can't go we don't go. My life has changed dramaticaly since we got him but I don't mind one bit :)

I am completely consumed by them mine are spoiled rotten too we think of places we can take them. Today one of my sons friends was looking at the toy box and said we don't love our dogs as much as you guys love your dogs I said thats because you don't have boxers. Oh Yeah I have joined the Boxer Rescue Society in my area now too, and we are also going to look at another on Saturday hopefully.
