this is great i thought i was nuts too, cause its just easier to let niko in the shower with me then it is to try to get him inn the tub without me......

Way funny though!!! I would be too afraid Dexter would have his nose half way up my butt...he does most of the time anyway! What's with that anyway...Dexter HAS to sniff everyones rear end as soon as they walk in the house?? I shower everyday I swear!!! I guess that's a whole other thread huh!
We...who am I kidding I bathe Dexter about once a month. He will not exactly jump in the tub for me but he doesn't fight me too much when I lift him in. Once in there I give him a bath/massage while I leave the water trickling for him to lick! He will jump out on his own shake off and then it's showtime...he goes NUTS
after his bath! He must feel good to be all clean!

Wow- Some boxers are stinky? Our Stella smells wonderful all of the time. I'm serious! She has this wonderful boxer smell that my husband and I love! Stella keeps herself clean. Someone once told me that boxers are very clean dogs- and don't need to bathe a lot. We used to bathe stella a lot when she was a puppy and didn't clean herself very well. But from then on we bathe her only when needed. We use some brand name puppy shampoo from a pet store. She gets more baths in the summer time when she is outside more. But when its cold and dry baths just make her skin flake. We just gave her a bath a couple nights ago. That was the first bath in maybe four months. She just doesn't need them and her coat never really gets to oily. She has wonderful dog hygene!

I put Jake in the shower with me he likes geting a shower. I use Pet-E-Coat
that I get from Boxer Rescue of Los Angeles I mix it in a palstic glass with luke warm water and pour it over Jake after I get him wet it smells great &
leaves his coat realy shiny after I towel dry him I spray a leave on condtioner
also from Boxer Rescue of LA.
Jake does not like the rain either if it's raining he crouches down low like he is tring to get under it.

Zen has never been keen on anything to do with water. When he was a puppy we would give him a bath and he would show his distaste by lifting his paws out of the water and looking sad. Now that he is older I just use a hose outside (hates that even more) but he's actually quite a clean dog so it's every 3 months or so. Will try a plastic kiddy pool, what a great idea! Too scared to bathe Zen inside now since he is a fully grown big boxer boy-he might end up clean but out bathroom won't.
Baths
I bath Baxter once every 2 weeks. Sometimes it is a little longer but not much. I was told to use Oatmeal Shampoo on him because they have sensetive skin. I use John Paul's (Co-Owner od Paul Mitchelle's Hair Products) his products our for dogs. I use the Oatmeal Shampoo and his Tearless Puppy Shampoo for his face. When Baxter was a puppy if I wasn't paying attention he would jump in the tub with me. He doesn't mind getting baths but I think it is important to bath them at least once a month. Good Luck!

I give Charlie Paper a bath every couple of weeks as well, unless he's in desperate need of one. I take him in the shower with me and just use Suave Strawberry scented shampoo. He's go allergies to some things, so I've never changed it, but I've never had any problems as far as him getting any kind of allergic reaction. It's not his favorite thing to do, like some of your babies, but he's good about it, and doesn't usually put up too much of a fuss. His favorite though is being towel dried when he gets out. He LOVES it!
Grunt gets a bath with a hand held shower attachment once a month, and Epi-Soothe shampoo (he has skin probs). Up until about 6 months ago, we had to chase him down to get him in the bathroom, and then pick him up and put him into the tub because his legs would go stiff, like "I'm NOT getting in there!!" Now, when he sees me getting out the shampoo, towels and hair dryer, he saunters into the bathroom, hops into the tub, and patiently waits. I think he likes the total body massage he gets when I suds him up, and all the sweet talking he gets from mom.

Boomer's Bath
My husband just gave Boomer a bath last night and he was so good. I think the reason he was stinking was when he pees he some times hits his front paws. He is 5 months and never raised his leg to pee, he doesn't squat either. He just kind of stands there and pees on himself, I wipe off his paws with the puppy wipes. He is demanding my attention right now, it's funny just like a kid when they see you on the phone or at the computer is when they want your attention.

Dutch only gets a bath when he needs it. He doesn't seem too fond of the tub but ours has sliding doors so it is easy to keep him in there. Otherwise he would (and has) jump out and hide! I just put my bathings suit on and get in the tub with him. It would be too hard to try and reach all of his parts while staying out of the tub...and it seems to be more on the dry side after all is said and done! I use a 2 in 1 oatmeal shampoo/conditioner that I got from Target. It smells so good and Dutch's coat always is so soft! The smell seems to stay for a while. SOme shampoo's i have used in the past don't keep him smelling nice at all. I agree with the shedding too...after Dutch gets a bath...all of that hair is left in the shower and not all over my bed and sofa!
