Ginger my almost 6 month old puppy is getting spayed 5/12/09. I am so nervous. The vet knows not to use ACE, but I am still nervous. She has never had any reactions to any shots and she has been perfectly healthy. Its just the thought of her getting the surgery and not waking up that scares me. I'm sure everyone felt the same when they got their Dogs fixed. I can't wait till its over and we pick her up and everything is fine.

It is natural to be scared and nervous. I am sure Ginger will come through her surgery just fine, but make sure to inquire about ACE when you take her in. When I took Roxy in for her surgery I had already made sure the vet knew, "No Ace." But that morning I found that the partner vet (my vet's husband) was going to do the surgery and he acted like I was a moron for telling him not to use Ace. He agreed not to use it, but wasn't happy that I had an internet education gradicon.

I will keep Ginger and you in my thoughts and prayers. I'll be sending lots of healthy, healing vibes to Ginger. ((((((((Hugs)))))))) to you.

Goo luck today!!! I know Ginger will be fine...but I know how you feel, it's so scary leaving your baby there, I have just been through it again with Frazier last month...I will be thinking of you and Ginger today!!

Right there with you...

We just had Brhin spayed and Blaze neutered yesterday - everything went fine... but the thoughts of "what if" were almost overwhelming. My wife slept very little - asked me at 4a.m. if I thought they were "okay"... she wasn't that concerned when our boys were sick!

Who would have ever imagined... :)

Sending lots of healing and positive vibes to Ginger for a good recovery from her spay. It's perfectly normal to be nervous and worried, most of us are when our pups have the spay/neuter procedure. Let us know how she's doing.

The vet called yesterday about 1:20 said everything went well, Ginger was trying to sit up when they were on the phone with me. I called later about 6:30 p.m. to see how she was doing and they said great. She ate alittle and drank. The vet that we go to requires her to stay the night. The house seems so empty without her. I am taking 1/2 day off today so I can pick her up about 1:00. Can't wait to get her back and so glad everything went well. Thanks for all the healing vibes.
