Chauncey is a brindle boxer with natural ears and is going to be 8 years old this summer. I have never had any medical problems until now. Three weeks ago he had an inner ear infection and the ear drum burst. There had never been any problem detected with his heart but the infection affected his heart . When they did a chest x-ray they said that one half of his heart was larger than the other. With the inner
ear problem he had no sense of balance and hit his eye on
something and now has a large ulcer. They have taken away
the bad tissue twice now but it is not healing. My vet thinks I should have a procedure done called punctate
kerratotomy. I am afraid with the heart condition that he
will not survive the surgery. They said that boxers are
very prone to eye ulcers. I am hoping someone might have
been through this with their dog. I would appreciate any
suggestions or advise.
