Completely Boxer Crazy
I would like to point out that American Bulldogs and English Bulldogs are COMPLETELY different :o

It's the English ones that have the short legs, extremely squishy snout, and soft palate (but they are incredibly cute!)

American Bulldogs are much taller and almost have a Staffie look to their face (IMHO). In general they are much healthier than their English counterparts.

Here's a description of the American Bulldogs. And a link to some pictures

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanbulldog.htm

The American Bulldog remains higher on the leg, more agile and swifter than its English counterpart. Some individuals are reportedly able to leap six or more feet into the air. The American Bulldog is a very muscular, sturdy dog with a large, powerful head and jaws. He is very strong, but agile and light on his feet. The chest is wide and the muscular neck tapers from shoulders to head. The neck may have a slight dewlap. The head is square and broad with muscular cheeks and a furrow between the rounded eyes. The strong muzzle is shaped like a box. The stop is sharply defined and deep. The teeth should meet in a tight undershot, even or scissors bite. A variety of ear types are acceptable including rose, half-pricked and pendant. Though some people crop the ears, uncropped ears are preferred in the American Bulldog Breeders Association Standard. Any eye color is permitted, but black eye rims are preferred on white dogs. The nose is black or grizzle. In black-nosed dogs, the lips should also be black, though some pink is permitted. The lips should be loose. The heavy-boned front legs should be strong and very straight. The hindquarters should be very broad and muscular. The low-set tail begins thick at the base and then tapers to a point. The short, harsh coat comes in combinations of solid or varying degrees of white, all shades of brindle, brown, red, or tan. The sturdy and powerful, yet compact frame, is characteristically stockier and heavier boned in the males and more refined in the females.

Boxer Pal
bulldog?

Hi, my name is Nikki. I am getting an english bulldog the 30th of this month for my boyfriend and he is getting me a boxer or a lab. I hear that they get along great. The breeder I went thru was edited by moderator. She has been exceptional!!! I will definitley got thru her again. She has answered every question I've asked in a timely fashion, has accomidated me to a T and is just overall awesome. The price I paid is $1500 which she does give the option for payments with the pup being paid off by the time of shipment, Oh - she also ships anywhere in the US with the price being included in the price of the pup. I truley recommend her. She just actually had another litter just recently. Her is her website edited by moderator if you go under the puppy section click September 8 (may be 9) and it will bring up a little boy named Rodney - thats mine that Im getting in a few weeks:) My email address is edited by moderator if you have any questions. I always can get to that address my other one on here is my corporate address. Hope this helps:)

Ive had an english bulldog and had no health problems at all.. He was a jem of a dog.. smart as a whip and more human than any other animal ive been in contact with.. yes they are expensive - but worth every penny! they are very trust worthy, and awesome with children.. they are very protective of their family and property.. the only word of advice I have about their health care is to make sure that the dog gets his heart checked at least once a year.. and you have to keep an eye on their tails.. when you pick out your puppy make sure that the tail can move away from his bum really well.. ive seen bulldogs tails too close to the bum and you have to wash them everytime the dog does his job.. I have a pic of my baby bulldog in my gallery.. actually i think there is 2 picks of him..

good luck to you....

we miss our Mack and someday we will get another one!

my little Sis's Bully

My younger Sister and her fella who had English bullies as a child desided to purchase a pup. They ended up with an import from Belgium. $3,500.00 bucks for the four month old male red papered bully. He was so cute. They did a pit stop on the drive thru So CA to their home in So AZ. Puppy Bailey had jet lag but was so cute everybody fell in love with him on sight. My daughter who's had pugs on her wish list for years now wants a Bully. I to would like to have one just once maybe in my retirement years then we can be tired and lazy together. Bailey wasted no time in humping everything in sight. Not sure at four months if that's a Bully thing or Bailey was just happy to see us...Diana

Well, to be honest, I don't know a thing about the bullys other than they're awesome to look at. I don't even know one personally. I can, however, vouch for the BT's. They're alot closer to the boxer in attitude, energy and disposition. If for some reason you decide against a bully, give the BT's a try. I don't think you'll be disapointed. Rufus is an exceptional member of the family.

I too LOVE english bulldogs, but the cost (in the long run) can be very expensive. I named my boxer pup "LOLA" after the english bulldog on "The Osbournes"!!!

I just love the English Bulldogs. I have an 11 yr. old male, red with a white blaze Rodford, Rod for short. I lost my 11yr.old white female,Matilda in Sept due to CHF. My male has allergies to fleas and some of the preservatives in dog foods and Matilda was allergic to red food dye. I feed Pedigree because it agrees with the male and it did also with my female. I have been lucky with my bullies. I would have many more if possible. I paid $1000 for each of my Bulldogs. I was told the life expectancy was only s6-8 yrs but I am here to tell you they can and do live longer.
Rod is kinda lazy but Matilda was always a puppy at heart.

I wanted an English Bulldog before I ever got a boxer. I even had a name picked out..."Tonka"...but after a little research and especially because of the cost, I decided on getting my first boxer.
That is when I got Dixie.... she is my "baby girl". She will be 4 years old December 23rd and she has been a real joy in my life the past 4 years.
A few months after getting Dixie, I decided that she needed a playmate...that is when I got my second boxer..."Brittany". She will be four on March 6th.
They are the best of friends and love each other dearly.
As if there wasn't enough activity in our house with our 2 little girls. Just over a year ago, we added "Skylar", the most mischievious, hyper, never resting, Dalmatian on earth.
Needless to say, its non-stop action at our house 24-7 :D
