*cracks her knuckles* Okay, let's see if I can't make a dent here...
Faughty:
There are several things in your dream that suggests that you feel like an outsider, but that you may be content being on the 'outside looking in'. The fact that it is dark in your dream suggests a feeling of aloneness, isolation, obscurity. You're looking in on other people's happiness and light, but you have none of your own. Winter and snow suggest an emotional freezing, a cold attitude, or simply a stagnancy. You may be very content looking in on other's happiness. Some people are just loners. Others are made happy by seeing or making others happy.
I'd need more specifics on the fun dreams to give you any sort of analysis

Did it not hurt you when she committed suicide? I can't imagine what you must have gone through, but despite your saying you had a loving relationship with her until this event...THIS EVENT hurt you VERY greatly. Stabbing suggests a violation, chasing suggests a problem you don't want to face. You felt very confused and your childhood 'rights' violated by your mother leaving you at such a young age. People need their parents, especially when they're young. To be denied that is to be denied valuable learning experiences and support (provided one has a fairly decent parent, that is). We do things with our hands. That she stabs you in a hand suggests you either missed out on something vital (clearly, you missed out on further years with your mother!) or that you have been prevented from fulfilling your full potential due to this.
My deepest condolances on your loss hon. I'll explain your hand still hurting after you wake up next.

An interesting question! There are actually three answers to this question, believe it or not. That is, the subject of feeling pain in your dream only to wake and have that pain still there.
The first reason is its psychosomatic. Our brain experiences the pain in our dream thanks to the subconscious's signals. However the nerve impulses and hormone levels responsible for this 'phantom pain' take a few minutes to dissipate from our systems. Hence, the pain lingers after you wake, until the body realizes nothing is really wrong, and it goes away.
The second reason is translation. You fall asleep in an odd position, you pinch part of your body or you put a limb to sleep, eventually it starts to hurt, and the signal is translated into our dream symbolically. Just as needing to use the restroom and other bodily signals can make their way into our dreams.
The third reason is actuality. You ACTUALLY have a problem in that area and your body is trying to warn you of it via your subconsious. I had an aunt who constantly had dreams that she was being bit or stabbed in the chest. She had no real pain or symptoms on awakening, but sure enough, shortly after the dreams began, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Your body often knows of health problems before you do. However, such painful warnings are fairly rare, so there is the greatest likelyhood that the reasons are one or two.

Yes, medications can definately affect our dreams and how 'strange' or vivid they are, how often we have them, and the nature of the dream. However, often, the symbology is not really affected, just made more pronounced.
The bombing dream suggests an end to a stage in life, perhaps a very emotional or 'explosive' end (a particularly messy break up, for example). Perhaps it wasn't even YOUR end, so to speak, but a situation a loved one was going through, hence his suggestion that he's hurting others, not you in particular.
Again, the death row also suggests an end to something, and peanut butter and jelly (a particular childhood favorite) suggests getting back to basics, resuming at square one, and starting anew.

Apartments. What do apartments mean? Well, when we think of someone financially well off and secure, do we picture them living in an apartment, however richly appointed? No. We picture them in their own house. Apartments symbolize frustration or problems with finances, being 'stuck' in a situation or a group you can't break out of. Home invasions and being taken hostage suggest you feel you have no control, that something very dear to you is being threatened, and that your hands, literally, are tied about it. Financial problems, again, can trigger such dreams. Debtors love to make us feel horrible, inadequate, and like terrible people. Bills loom, and perhaps even services get shut off. You just don't know how you'll make it till the next paycheck. You start to question your own worth, your own maturity, you're own handle on the situation. In short...you feel like a child again...inadequate. Hence appearing as a child in some of these dreams. You feel small, helpless, taken control of. Or, perhaps, your parents had great financial trouble when you WERE a child, and their fears brushed off on you. However we try to hide things from our kids, kids always sense something is amiss. It always spills out, even if its just a little. Perhaps such troubles have made you even more concerned as an adult not to fall into the same trap.

Of course its disturbing to you. Its bringing you back to a painful time in your life. This sounds like a grieving process that isn't quite complete yet. You need to give it some more time, acknowledge the pain and loss to yourself on all levels, and eventually move on. Again, my condolances.

Being out of uniform is actually very akin to being undressed in your dream (though you weren't here). A uniform, especially a military one, is a sign of courage, honor, and dignity. Its a symbol of belonging. Lacking part of your uniform suggests you are afraid you lack part of these things. You either worry you're not as courageous as you need to be in your life, or you're not living with the right level of honor (even though you are no longer in the army). You're simply worried you don't quite measure up. Have faith in yourself. You're your own worst critic

Actually, being invaded in your room and throttled suggests more a feeling of suffocation and helplessness in your life, a feel you are being hindered, or that someone is taking control of your life, 'smothering' you (usually a parent). You want to break free and escape whatever it is that plagues you.

You may be seeking direction, yes, but usually such dreams about school, and being lost or late, suggests more a fear of disapproval or of failing ones responsibilities than loss of direction. After all, usually being late to class or not showing up for class brings with it punishment, or at the very least, makes your teacher disagreeable to you. We usually prefer it when people like us and are happy with us, than the other way around.

Perhaps you feel you are not quite accomplishing what you wanted to do? Everyone in life has a plan. Grow up, go to college, become a doctor, get married, have three kids by age thirty five, be retired by age 60, buy a yacht...yada yada yada. But life rarely follows our plans. Perhaps when you were in college you saw yourself in a much different place than you are now, and feel you are failing your goals, that you are falling behind, or that the dreams you believed so strongly in are doomed to failure.
Life never follows the patterns we want for it. So we adjust. Good luck

I don't think its a sign that he'll leave you. It may be a realization of a FEAR that he'll leave you, but what I'm leaning toward more on this is the fact that your family isn't around. Perhaps your family has lacked in support on this? Perhaps they don't approve and have made it known, either by being cool and distant or even being outright hostile? Perhaps you fear, also, this will drive him away? That's more what this feels like, than simply a sign he's going to abandon you and disappear. There are deeper emotional issues here that need to be worked out, both between you two and your family, I think.

Again, flying and chase dreams are exceedingly common. Flying suggests trying to escape, to gain freedom. Getting caught up in something or prevented from flying where you like suggests frustrations. However you say that you are always flying 'somewhere you've been.' You're always near familiar landmarks. This suggests that while you yearn for freedom you are still responsible enough not to let it go to your head. Not to lose sight of reality, as it were, and the familiar things that need attention.
Chasing suggests avoiding some problem, or actively denying it. You need to find out what problem it is that needs addressing, and address it.
The easiest way to halt a chase dream while its happening is to stop running, turn, and address whatever is chasing you. Ask it WHY. Sometimes the pursuing figure will give you a straight answer. Sometimes they'll just vanish. Or sometimes they'll express mystification. A friend of mine even had this unique respons. When she asked 'why are you chasing me?', the pursuing figure answered, 'its your dream, you tell me!'
Good luck!
