Does your puppy growl when he plays????

Just curious because it concerns my wife. It doesn't bother me every dog I've ever had growls when you're playing hard with them. But my wife is bothered cause she doesn't know him yet and he chomps pretty hard with those little puppy teeth. I told her he's only growling/barking because he's excited and wants to play some more.

Duke did it when he was a young pup and still does. But he doesnt bite me that hard he just gums me. HE used to bite hard but I would say "ouch Duke" or easy. How old is he?

Henri certainly did Doesn't now, unless it's another boxer he's playing with.

That's very normal for a boxer pup. Boxers are vocal players, never more so than when they get togethr. But if one is a puppy, then all the growling and snarling during the play will be coming from the littler guy (just about guaranteed ).

Yeah he's 8 weeks old. In fact when we picked him up he didn't even know how to bark, at least if he did he never did it. We kept bringing him over to the inlaws the first two days so he could socialize with other dogs, on the second day he let out a little bark. Then again, and now he barks outside a lot and some in the house if we get him really worked up. The best thing though is his growl. It sounds like a damn pigeon man its hilarious

Brody is 9 months and still does it. Some times its too loud. But when is he gone I miss his little noises!

Rowdy growls a lot while we play. I think it's totally normal. They are just talking to you. Especially if I go first or if he's with other dogs.
Sometimes he barks, but we try to discourage that because I don't want our neighbors (apartment) to complain.

For some reason Rogue's playing growl is louder & more aggressive when playing with my daughter.

Cleo growls when she plays. I can understand why your wife would be concern but once you get use to a boxer it seems perfectly normal. I love it when Cleo does it.
