Sasha is 8 months now and she does it quite a lot. Especially when she is excited and playing. When she first did it with a dog in the park i thought she was trying to kill it. I just always explain to people now and i find so many have the same with their dogs that aren't boxers! She always lets rip at us but if you bark back at her she hates it!

Boxer Buddy
When we brought Reina home a week and a half ago she was growling so viciously while playing with our 11mo old walker/rott mix (Danner) I was worried she was going to be a mean dog. But I noticed there were no signs of true aggression (hair standing up, baring teeth...) so that made me feel a little better, although I still worried. After reading everyones replies on here I know now it's normal! Thank goodness!! We joke that she sounds like Donald Duck, it's hysterical. Now I actually try to MAKE her growl because it's so funny!

2 of Them

Super Boxer
One of mine, Tonks, growls something fierce and the other one, Hagrid, just sings. I was afraid of Tonks' growl at first but then I figured out she was just playing. She's almost a year now and she thinks she is so stinkin' tough! Haggy on the other hand sings so loud that you can't hear the tv or the phone. Silly babies. :)

TXJOLE

Boxer Buddy
My mother raises Shih Tzus and Whiskey loves to growl and carry on with those fur balls. My mother throws a fit that she is too rough with them. Best part is when she gets up and runs off, they chase her and she will turn around and pin her ear back. Then run at them and hit them like bowling pins. Sometimes she gets all 6 of them on her and all you can see are her feet in the air and hear her growling from under the fur pile.
