Does your puppy growl when he plays????

Odie our new baby growls and yaps all the time when he is playing, but Sugar and Ray were always vocal when they played with one another and even with us sometimes.

AJ is 1 1/2 and he still growls a little bit when he plays. I think it's cute. Of course - I think everything he does is cute.....

Phoenix growls when she plays but will only gum you if she bites. It makes me laugh because she is so sweet (and whimpy) and tries to look so fierce. Sometimes I start growling with her first then she will start. I haven't seen her have any aggressive behavior towards anyone and the kids play pretty rough sometimes with her. I don't think you have to worry, although we do tell her "easy" or "gentle" if she gets too rough and she will stop right away.

My three are older and they still sound sooo viscous when they play. My Nieghbor ask once why my dogs fight when I let them outside and why I did not stop them. He told me that the big male was going to really hurt the little females. He just laughs now when he sees them outside.

Champ is 7 months and he still growls. It used to scare me when I first got him because I really didnt' know boxer traits all that well and I thought he was being agressive. Other people still get a little nervous around him that don't know him, but I have to assure them that he IS just playing. He makes all the Chewbacca noises too and gets crazy looks in his eyes.

Gracie growls when she plays--typical boxer sounds--but the funniest is when she wants to coax me to play with her. She will grab one of her toys and then run back and forth in front of me, growling--she wants soo badly to entice me to play with her!

thats awesome...our dog just bites your hands, in fact the toys are the least favorite things of his...I dont get it, but hopefully he'll start growing out of the hand chewing phase.

When Lola growls when she plays she looks a little alarmed at first that the noise has come from her, it's so funny. It happens almost every time, Lol

Bella will growl when she is playing with my husband and son. At first it alarmed me. I was worried she would get mean. She doesn't play rough with myself or daughter so she never growls at us. It is nice to know that it is normal boxer behavior :rolleyes:

Growl is worse than bite!

Koda is only 7 mos. and sounds like a KILLER with the growl, but is very gental with the grasp of her mouth. The thing I hate is she will not bark at strangers or the door bell. She will come up to a stranger and start licking and jumping. I would love here to bark other than just in play.
