These dogs know all! I got out of the shower and started walking towards my bedroom. Keep in mind I have planned on taking my dog hiking the day before and it was like she knew I planned it.
I opened the bedroom door and she looked at me. I swear when I looked back that was it. She knew. She started boxer racing around the house, kangaroo jumping, and kidney beaning like it was the best day of her life.

Our two definitely know what "where do you want to go" means, we might be casually sitting on the couch with no indication that we are going anywhere. Ray will start woo wooing, kidney beaning and jumping around all at once and run out to the car where he will wait very impatiently with paws pumping up and down. Sugar will follow along behind him kidney beaning as she goes with more of a squeal than a woo woo. If we don't come out quick enough they will come back to find us and do the whole routine again untill we go.

Spud seems to know when I'm going to take him out too. He seems to know the difference between when I'm going to go out on my own and when He's coming with me, even before I pick up his lead or say anything. I don't know how he does it. :D

Does it take long to get your Boxer used to a car? Do they sit quiet and sleep or what's their in car routine?

Does anyone use a car harness? Recommend any one in particular?

Kind Regards,

Alan.

It did not take Diva long at all - she has loved it right from the beginning.
As far as sitting quiet, that is a different story.
If I have someone with me in the front passenger seat, she is fine in the back and will just sit and stare out the window. If I am by myself, and my passenger seat is open, she decides that, as I am driving, she will climb in front and sit with me.
One time she jumped right on to my lap, and had to pull over to the side of the road and put her back in the back seat.

Ours ALWAYS know. Especially if it is for a trip or something. If we start packing, they know. They are running around bouncing off of the back door and crying and kidney beaning. They are so smart. Or you say, "car ride..." and they know and get SO excited. They are so cute!

Max is the same way. All I have to say are those three words and he goes nuts! He knows that when we get in the car and at the end of the ride await new people, dogs, and sights!

OMG, they sure do! All I have to do is walk over to their drawers. They know that is where I keep their car harness seat belts. They go crazy and I can hardly keep them calm enough to get their harness on them. If I say to them "Do you want to go get the girls?" they do the same thing. I always would say that when I would pick my daughters up at school. I swear they are human some times!

She knows....

Coco knows and will not leave it alone or me for that matter. She will go get her coller and then nose butt the keys around, then she'll walk to the front door and nose butt the door knob. If I have my keys in my hand she continuously stands there and nose butts my keys until we leave. She loves to go and makes no bones about it! :)
