Completely Boxer Crazy
My Brandy has started to "knaw" on me. When I pet her she will put her head on my arm and start to knaw......like they do on themselves if they have fleas those little tiny quick bites. Doesn't hurt but I have never seen a dog do this to a person. Is this normal and what does it mean?

One of my boys also does this when he plays... We commonly refer to this as "The Nibbles". Not sure why he does it but it is something he has always done.

Beau does this to Samantha and me!! I think he's just being affectionate, but sometimes he gets carried away with his nibbling and he pinches a little too hard!!

Layla just started doing this the other day, she was licking me, and then all of a sudden, she started doing that. I was like hey wait a minute, cause she accidentally got a little skin, and it kinda hurt!! Little stinker!!

Coco does this a lot. Sometimes I believe it's her way of being affectionate because we could just be laying there and rubbing her and she'll do it, not too hard tho. Sometimes when we're playing she does it too, only a little harder. I figured during play she did that because we got on to her in the beginning for biting so she resorted to nibbling, cause it's not actually biting but close! I swear she thinks that way, just as close I as I can get to doing what I want without getting in trouble :)

Mason does this too! :) A friend of mine has two labs and they do it to each other & their owners. They told me it was a grooming and affection signal. I'm not too sure if this is the real reason, but it kind of makes sense.

Oh yeah, Blaze does this all the time. We call it "corn cobbing" because it looks like he's eating a corn on the cob.

LOL
