My brindle boy is among this group sort of.........he spits his out on purpose. He sucks whatever juice or add-ons are on the kibble and then spit out pieces of kibble. Not all of it, but enough so that it has to be picked up after mealtime is over. Some ends up in the water bowl at every meal. Then he'll walk away and spit a couple out as he goes. He never comes back to pick them up.

I have to clean them up so that my white w/allergies doesn't get any of his food.

Oh how messy they can be.

Powder does this also. She'll get a bite walk around and chew for a bit and go back for more. She is a very messing little girl. Whenever she get finished. There is food on the floor, cabinets, walls and in her water bowl.

I think Roxy does it to spite me. She's an exteremely picky eater so I mix her food and she sucks the wet off and spits out the dry. Not only does she spit out the kibble but she wanders out of the kitchen (linoleum floor) past the living room and down the hall (hardwood floor) and into the bedroom to spit it out on the carpet and there she goes back to the dish for another round. I think she knows its just so much more fun for momma to clean off of the carpet than the solid floors

I have more water on my floor than doggie food:D

Krose eats his food cleaner than most Boxers I think, after reading the posts. BUT.... after eating, he has to drink like a gallon of water and comes to us with water dribbling everywhere, I mean huge drops!!!!! He doesn't care. He comes up to me, burps:p almost every time! Then he wipes his mouth on my favorite puzzle shaped sofa. I just figured that out. He was so clever hiding it, I was finding wet spots on the sofa and could not understanbd where the heck they were coming from! Wel,, it was Krose's lipssmashicon

CARMELLA ACTUALLY IS A NEAT EATER. I BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE STANDS THAT HOLDS THE WATER AND FOOD UP TO HER HEIGHT AND SHE JUST LOVES IT. SHE STANDS OVER HER BOWL UNTIL ALL THE FOOD IS GONE. AND DRINKING WATER IS A DIFFERENT STORY. :D

Just a word of caution about elevated bowls.... several studies have "shown" an increased risk of bloat, connected to elevated bowls. The percentages are different in each study, but all are amazingly high! I guess like with anything else, take it with a grain of salt. :)

Oliver never does this...and never leaves even a morsil anywhere to be found. Lucy on the other hand, dribbles. It's funny to watch because Oliver goes behind her and as fast as she drops the food he eats it.

Layla takes her nose and pushes her kibble over the side of the dish then I have to go put it back in the bowl. But most of the time it is her treat habbits that get me. I will give her a milk bone and she will take it in her mouth run in the living room throw it down dance around it with her but in the air growling at it then pick it up and fling it go to it do the same thing she does this about 5 or 6 times or until I tell her to quit playing with her food...

I thought it was just my girl that did this and I always chalked it up to the fact that she always chews on the back teeth which are very small, and that when she tries to push the food to those back teeth it falls down those jowels to the floor. That was always my theory anyway. What do ya think??

We just bought her some cheese training treats and they are small little balls and the poor thing can never chew them I have to feed her the same treat 3-4 times before she gets it into the right spot whete she can chew it. The good thing is my mother has a Brussell Griffon and he is like a portable vacumn he just follows her around and picks up her trail :D

Dacee doesn't take and drop kibble all over, she has gotten into the habit of just pushing her whole bowl of food around the house with her nose and when it get stuck under something then she really gets silly, like now, she pushed it behind the couch, and she trying to get it out and snorting like a horse. I will get it out for her, she will continue to push it. Oh now she just dumped it over, thats a new thing, maybe she will learn to drop her kibble around the house next. They are just like kids, they have to play with their food before they eat. Gotta love'em!

Oh & her "hold the water in the mouth" trick is a real pip, She takes a drink looks up at you without swallowing & lets it dribble out the sides, there is always a towel next to her water bowl, I wish her food bowl would stay in the same place!
