Does anyone else's boxer pee when they're excited?

Beau still does this all the time at 14 months. I don't think his is due to excitement, though. He will pee everywhere if he thinks I'm not going to take him out, if I don't let him out of his crate as soon as I get home and when people come over (that is due to excitement). He will jump up on people and start spraying everywhere. I called the vet and was told not to worry. He is still learning how to control his bladder. Hopefully, he will grow out of it! For right now, I have to deal with the embarrassment and keep a lot of carpet cleaner handy.

Hi. Joe is 2 years old now and still pees when he gets excited. I just keep washing the tile with bleach and water! :) However, Debbie's suggestion is right on track. If Joe is in the kitchen, we tell everyone to ignore him until he settles down. I will put him in a sit stay until our guests sit down. Joe will go over to them, but if they ignore him, he will be fine. If they talk to them, they will get peed on! I have about given up on him growing out of it. It does put a hamper on us bringing him out to a lot of places.

Coco will piddle with excitement but only with certain people. She only does it when we go to the vet & when one of my girlfriend's/neighbor comes over. I don't know why it's only those two situations.

When we picked up Dottie last Monday, we took Snoop with us.
The minute he saw her, he cocked his leg, and let-go a stream! I thought he was going to pee right on her head!! We were in the reception area right in front of the front door of a vet's office! Talk about a mess!
Snoop used to dribble when he was excited to see people, too. But, like some of you have mentioned, just ignoring him for a few minutes, and NOT making a big deal of coming home, seems to work.
LIke you said B and Z, I'm coming to the conclusion that it IS a Boxer thing!
Between dogs, kids and grandkids, I've been spitup'd on, peed on, cleaned shit up for, licked, and through it all, I keep one thought in mind.... No matter how gross, WE are ALL washable!! :)

My first boxer Put up your Dukes "Duke" did that it was horrible. It started as a tiny 8 week old pup and with everything, us, new people, other dogs, everyday situations ect. He never grew out of it and everything I tried training wise failed. He was bought for me for my birthday and my husband and I were at the time unexperienced dog owners and didn't know the cute little face at the flea market was from a BAD Breeder. He was such a sickly puppy. I figured that his pee problem was due to this too .We invested so much love and money in him and he never made it to his first birthday.

I think Boxer has a great suggestion . I have never had this problem at 15 months and when I walk in before Maggie gets any attention, I always have something in my hands to put down on the counter. Good Luck!
